Die Stadt und Gemeinde Batumi in Georgien ist das Verwaltungszentrum der Autonomen Republik Adscharien. Batumi ist die zweitgrößte Stadt Georgiens, ein großer internationaler Hafen an der Südostküste des Schwarzen Meeres und ein wichtiges Industrie-, Kultur- und Tourismuszentrum Georgiens. Der Botanische Garten nimmt den südwestlichen Abschnitt der etwa 1 km langen Küste zwischen der Mündung des Flusses Chakvitskali und dem Grünen Kap ein, die sich von 0 bis 220 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel erstreckt. Der Garten zeichnet sich durch spezifische und vielfältige physisch-geografische Bedingungen aus. Die Festung Petra ist ein militärisch-strategischer und handelswirtschaftlicher Standort. Im 6. Jahrhundert errichtete Johannes Strategos auf Befehl des byzantinischen Kaisers Justinian an der Stelle dieser antiken Siedlung von Lazes eine Burg, die zu Ehren dieses Kaisers „Justinians Stadt“ genannt wurde.

Zura, the tour leader, was extremely friendly and I appreciated a lot the relaxed pace he gave to the whole trip. What I did not like was that on Viator it shows a departure time that is actually 30 mins earlier the actual time (and check in does not require 30 mins since group is quite small, in fact they did it 5 mins before actual time)...if you have an early start and the whole day ahead to walk around, it's not really nice to wake up 30 mins before and then wait in front of their closed office hoping someone will eventually show up (they said they know, in fact on GYG time is correct, but still wrong on Viator). But even worse, I found EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL that, during the trip, HE STOPPED THE VAN AND LET THE WHOLE GROUP WAIT FOR SOME 20-30 BECAUSE HE GOT SOME STUFF TO DELIVER TO HIS UNCLE (!!!). We could not believe our ears but yes, it really happened and Zura candidly admitted it, explaining that this is how things run in Georgia. Zura, you're a very nice guy, but in all the tours I took in Georgia, no one has ever interrupted the group trip for his own family business. Your guests are precious and so it's their time.
Batumi is a modern city with skyscrapers. Interesting to see if you have time but not essential. The fortress is a ruin and the park is nothing spectacular.

We just returned from an amazing trip to Batumi with my parents and our guide Saba. I'd highly recommend it. We saw the fortress and botanical garden with Saba. Explored Batumi's new and old parts. Ate at Adjika restaurant - the staff were super friendly. Totally recommend it:)
Amazing tour with the best tour guide, Saba. The Botanic garden was stunning, you can see trees from all over the world and it has an amazing view near the beach. Batumi is a great experience, our tour guide took us to a great restaurant for lunch, wich was super delicious. Nice walk on the beach, very beautiful, friendly and lovely dogs!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Everything was convenient and we had an amazing time back to Kutaisi, thanks to our tour guide. Thank you!!!
