My family just spent the last week visiting Costa Rica for our first time. Initially, I had booked the Palo Verde River tour with another tour company months in advanced. However, without any communication, that tour company cancelled two weeks before our trip and I was left looking to book another tour on short notice (with life being chaotic, it was tough to find time). Luckily, I landed with Tico Adventure Tours (NOT to be confused with Tico Tours by the way) and Cristian saved the day! I found Cristian to be highly knowledgeable, super accommodating, and very fair with pricing. Even though my small family ended up being the only ones to book the river tour for that day, Cristian still came to pick us up at our more-remotely-located hotel (JW Marriott Guanacaste) and gave us what turned out to be a private river tour, and we spontaneously turned it into a full day tour when we asked to see sloths (after Cristian was very honest about not likely seeing them on the river tour). I forget the location in the rain forest that Cristian took us to, but the whole day was incredible. We saw more than 20 different species of animals between the river and rain forest tour - including a very special close sighting of the cutest baby sloth! It was the highlight of our trip! It was a ton of driving for the day but totally worth it. I am a big supporter of small businesses, especially if they are owned and run by honest, good, hardworking people. And I can tell Cristian is one of them (on our way back from the rain forest tower stop, he actually gave the two lady tour guides rides home, which I thought was super nice!). If you are planning your excursions in Costa Rica, I highly recommend hiring the Tico Adventure Tours team!
We were able to enjoy a private boat tour as no one else had booked that day. Cristian and the boat captain were so enthusiastic about helping us have the best experience and get good photos. It was once in a lifetime views of crocodiles, capuchin monkeys, tiger herons, bats and some beautiful greenery. The place he took us to for lunch also had some great hand made souvenirs, which was a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend!
Thanks 🙏 to much , thanks for sharing this words , for us it is very important to know all this , it was amazing to have you here ! Thanks again
Christian was great! Very communicative leading up to the tour. The tour itself was great as welll. Our captain was able to point out so many animals. We saw lots of crocodiles, birds, iguanas, and he was able to find the monkeys and bring them close to us. It was a wonderful day!
Muchas gracias , que gusto escuchar estas palabras fue un enorme placer!
Very nice tour! Christain and his driver were the best! Plenty of infos on CR and lot of animals seeing during this tour! Lunch: delicious Casado at Rancho Coyotes! Try this tour company, very pro and nice!!🌞
My wife and I booked Tico Adventures Tours for two excursions: the boat tour in Palo Verde with lunch at Rancho Los Coyotes, and the Llanos de Cortes Waterfalls, with lunch an animal tour in Bijagua de Upala. On the boat tour, we saw pretty much every animal minus the Jaguar, and the boat guide had eagle eyes and saw everything. The lunch at Rancho Los Coyotes was fantastic. The waterfalls were awesome for a swim and great for quality souvenirs, and we saw many sloths and some cool nature in Bijagua. We worked both times with Cristian, and he was great. Fun, communicative, informative, safe (he drove a lot for this!) - all things you want in a guide. Also, he used his network to get us cheaper tickets to zip lining and horse back riding, things my wife and I did on our own. We showed up to those places, and everything was taken care of. I highly recommend working with Cristian and his team!
Our experience was very good; the guide was pleasant and stopped at a cute little cafe in Santa Cruz on the way, which has a good selection of pastries and coffee. He also stopped a few times to explain some of the sights and allow for extra pictures. We enjoyed the boat tour; the Captain made every effort to get us up close to the crocodiles, monkeys, and various birds. Our lunch at the Coyote Ranch was a tasty casados-style lunch that even my kids enjoyed. At the ranch there were a few demonstrations as well, including pottery making and sugar cane extraction with tasting. Overall, a nice eco/cultural experience for our family. Thank you!
Christian picked us up in a comfortable van with ac. We drove to the boat tour and he allowed us stops as needed. The boat tour was very good with our own private tour. We saw howler monkeys, white faced capuchin monkeys, crocodiles and many types of herons. Although it was a hot day, we were always comfortable. Lunch was delicious at a local farm. We learned about the pottery as well and saw many farm animals, iguanas and a peacock.
It was my pleasure, we had a lot or fun thanks for your words Pura vida
