Die meisten anderen Touren beginnen am Tor und erbrechen eine geskriptete Tour durch Mythen, Legenden und Lügen, die geschrieben wurde, um Besucher von ihrem Geld zu trennen. Bei mir gibt es einen Savannahianer der 6. Generation und einen akademisch ausgebildeten Historiker mit mehr als 30 Jahren Erfahrung im Savannah-Gastgewerbe, der die Insider-Informationen besitzt und es liebt, die Geschichten zu teilen. All dies und auch die Gastfreundschaft des Südens! Tür-zu-Tür-Service von der Innenstadt aus oder treffen Sie mich auf dem Friedhof, wenn Sie lieber selbst fahren möchten. Vollständige Besichtigung des Friedhofs, meistens zu Fuß, aber wir fahren durch den Rest auf dem Weg rein und raus. Es ist über 30 Hektar groß, aber wir konzentrieren uns auf den historischen Teil. Alles für ungefähr den Preis dessen, was die anderen Touren verlangen, um Sie dort draußen zu treffen.

Abholorte & -zeiten
Ich hole etwa 20 Minuten vor Tourbeginn in allen Hotels, B & Bs, Gasthäusern und den vielen Trolley-Haltestellen in der Innenstadt von Savannah ab. Ich rufe eine Stunde vorher an, um eine genaue Abholzeit anzugeben. Die Abholung muss in der Innenstadt (Historic District und Victorian District) an einer Ladezone oder an einer legalen Straßenbahnhaltestelle erfolgen. Wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind, geben Sie einfach die Adresse Ihres Aufenthalts ein und ich werde Sie über den besten Ort für die Abholung informieren. Solange Sie sich in oder in der Nähe meines Abholradius in der Innenstadt befinden, kann ich Sie wahrscheinlich zu Ihrem VRBO oder INN bringen. Ich kann nicht südlich von Victory Drive abholen. Es ist einfach zu weit weg, um in 20 Minuten abgeholt zu werden. Sie müssten die Gruppe auf dem Bonaventure Cemetery treffen. Sie können die Tour auch auf dem Friedhof treffen. Bitte lassen Sie mich wissen, was Sie tun möchten, nachdem Sie Ihre Tour gebucht haben, damit ich Vorkehrungen treffen kann.

THE GOOD: 1. GUIDE'S EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE: The guide is a local and has a great source of information and factual info about the stories of many grave sites. 2. AIR-CONDITIONED PICK UP: Very nice van and the guide is very accommodating to pick you up at your hotel. It was highly convenient. COULD BE IMPROVED: 1. 2-HRS OF INFO NON-STOP: I would limit it to the most interesting grave sites ( e.g. perhaps, choose 5 that are of most interesting and important ) and allow 20 mins of free walking around for tourists who want to explore on their own. Designate a meeting site after introducing the 5 most interesting graves ( 1 hr tops ) and then give 20 mins of free time to take photos and take it all in. Listening to extensive info with dates for 2 hrs can be a bit long in the hot sun. The tour can easily be 1.5 hrs. It should also be tailored to the crowd as there were some elderly in the crowd as well.

Tim was great and so knowledgeable. The pickup spots were easy to find, and we got a lot of good information on the drive out there. He shared real history without any exaggerated stories or sensationalized details, which I really appreciated. The tour was informative, engaging, and well worth it. Very interesting event-host very knowledgable. Picked us up at our hotel, took us through cemetery, explained a lot about the history of the place, provided water, answered questions, and brought us back.
We really enjoyed this tour. The tour operator was very knowledgeable and we believe has a photographic memory given the details when asked. The cemetery is beautiful and very interesting given the times going back to Civil War era.
