Das Goldmuseum von Bogotá beherbergt eine der weltweit bedeutendsten Sammlungen prähispanischen Kulturerbes mit mehr als 30.000 Stücken indigener Kulturen. Es wurde 1939 gegründet und wird von der Banco de la República verwaltet. Es ist eine kulturelle Ikone Kolumbiens. Destacan obras como la Balsa Muisca y el Poporo Quimbaya.
Das Museum befindet sich in einem restaurierten Kolonialhaus, in dem Gemälde, Skulpturen und Diskussionen ausgestellt sind, die den volumetrischen Stil und die ganze Persönlichkeit von Botero widerspiegeln, sowie Werke von Monet, Picasso und Dalí aus ihrer Privatsammlung.

It was a very interesting and informative Museum. The Museum is free for Senior Citizens. Many of the exaibits were in both Spanish and English. Some of the translations to English were a bit odd. Whice were there a special program was presented to a group of young school children.

Colombia is lovely but Andrés made us fall in love with this land and obviously left us wanting to come back, by the way.. Andres makes some spectacular photos we get very good memories.
