Fabulous trip, to celebrate our youngest son going away for the summer. An extra date was put on specially, and we are really grateful. The dolphins did come out to play, and at one point five were out of the water. We'll definitely do it again. Fish and chips and an ice cream topped off a perfect afternoon.
Thank you for such a kind review and glad you had such a great day ♥️
This was a family outing for a birthday; absolutely brilliant fun, incredible views. Seals came so close to the boat. Highly recommend
It was a wonderful ride with competent commentary and lots of big dolphins swimming next to our boat. Highly recommended!
Our captain was great. It was just fun to be able to relax and enjoy the water. We did get to see the sea otters, but not any dolphins. We actually witnessed a barge taking out an oil rig! I can say I’ve been on a boat in the North Sea!!
Amazing, we saw dolphins (including a baby) seals and lots of lovely seabirds. Highly recommend! Wear a jacket even if its 30 degrees, its a bit nippy out on the estuary.
Fabulous time out on the water-made special by the sight of dolphins and seals. Lovely part of Scotlands coastline. Recommend to adults and children.
Well organized and they kept time. However, it would have been good to have a sign where the boat docked. Was a little hard to find. It pulled down the grade a bit. The boat trip was great even if we didn't see any dolphins. But we saw many different kinds of birds and many seals.
What a fantastic experience. Seeing the dolphins and being on the Tay was magical. Thank you Salt Dog Marine for a wonderful trip. You are professional and friendly and knowledgeable!
I booked this trip for myself and my two sisters. We are from the area but only one of us still lives in Dundee. I'd wanted to book this for a long time and we finally managed to agree a date. The booking process was very simple and easy with a promotional discount code available via the website. We had originally booked for 4 and the cancellation was also very simple via a call and text, with the refund immediately transferred back into my account. Parking at Broughty Castle at 4pm was no problem and at 4.15pm we saw the rib arrive at the slipway in the harbour. A friendly welcome from the skipper with quick and efficient fitting of life jackets and safety brief. The estuary was like a millpond as we set off out towards the sea. After about 15 minutes we started to see numerous dolphins arcing out of the water and the skipper knew where to find them. I don't know how many we saw but it must have been about 70. They jumped out of the water together in perfect synchronicity. Plenty of opportunities to take photos and videos. On our return journey we saw huge numbers of seals on a sandbar at Tentsmuir beach and little heads bobbing up near the boat. Also many species of birds flying in the air and on the sandbar including gannets, terns and cormorants. The sun came out on our way back, it was warm, and we had a wonderful view of Broughty Castle with Dundee bridges. We returned to the harbour in good time and assisted carefully off the boat . The skipper was very knowledgeable about the wildlife but didn't give commentary during the trip unless asked, meaning that we could just take in the view and wildlife in our own way. I'd definitely book this again and would highly recommend it. Thank you Saltdog Marine for a great experience.
Another amazing trip today. We were very lucky to see many dolphins, such a magnificent spectacle to see them so close. Also loved the seals bobbing up and down to have a look at us. Ian is brilliant and a mine of information to enhance the experience. This was my second trip, the first time there were no dolphins in the vicinity so we went over tentsmuir way then down past the Tay bridge to take in the V&A from the river side. This time as the dolphins were around we bobbed around for a fair bit and finished with a thrilling full throttle ride back into the harbour. So, you never know what you are going to get but that is also the thrill of it, and I hugely enjoyed both trips. Can’t wait for the next one!
