This was a highlight of our Italy trip!!! We absolutely loved Alina and her expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed learning to cook authentic Italian food. This meal was the most delicious food we had in our 11 day trip around Rome, Umbria & Cinque Terre! I would definitely recommend this cooking class!
I have had many cooking experiences but this has been by far my favorite. To start with, the space is dreamy! The farm and their home are just beautiful. A very calming and welcoming space. Alina was so kind to my kids ( 7 and 4) and helped providing toys and things for them when they couldn’t stay engaged in the class. We also loved the folks who attended the class. Lunch was fun and delicious ( the very food we cooked!). Do this! Totally worth it
This cooling class with Alina really was a highlight for us. She is a beautiful hostess and we learned so much from her. She taught us how to appreciate olive oil and the intricacies of cooking with it. We had a beautiful meal and a wonderful visit with her. I would highly recommend this.
First of all driving there the scenery was spectacular. Alina was so wonderful and kind. Her place is amazing and the views from there were awesome. The cooking class was great, there were four couples and one couple were our best friends which whom we were traveling with. The class was so much fun and making homemade pasta was easy. Alina was a great host and teacher. We made four different pasta dishes and tiramisu for dessert. We did fresh spaghetti, tagliatelle , and ravioli and she had homemade pasta sheets for the Lasanga and we all helped make the bechumel sauce. Was fantastic. Then we all sat down outside and enjoyed our food and then she took us too see her olive trees and how they make there olive oil which is so good. And she ships to the US. Really the best. You will love everything.
This experience was wonderful. The setting could not have been more picturesque among the flowers, charming buildings, and rolling countryside. We learned so much while making the pasta, accompanying sauces from scratch. Not to mention the tiramisu! And then we ate the incredible food, and Alina even made packets of leftovers for us! Sadly, we couldn’t stay forever!
This was one of my favorite experiences in Italy, we learned about slow cooking and organic farming. We learned how to make several types of pasta from spaghetti to lasagna to ravioli. The tiramisu was delicious and it all felt so approachable to cook and we learned a lot from the host!
Grazie mille! You are very kind! Thank you!
This was an absolute highlight of our week in Umbria! Alina and her family welcomed us and made their beautiful, comfortable home feel like our own for the day. Our family (including 2 teens) spent 3 hours with them making 3 types of pasta and tiramisu, all of which we enjoyed over a slow lunch with wine and limoncello that they had made themselves. We toured their olive orchard and press where they make their own olive oil. Everything felt relaxed, authentic, and local. We feel we made new friends and hope to return!
Thank you so much for your beautiful review! We are truly happy that your experience with us was a highlight of your week in Umbria. It was a real pleasure welcoming you and your family to our home at the Slow Cooking School in Paciano, in the heart of the Umbrian countryside. We love sharing authentic Italian cooking experiences—from making fresh pasta and tiramisu to enjoying a relaxed lunch with local wine and homemade limoncello. Creating genuine, hands-on experiences connected to the land and local traditions is exactly what we aim to offer here at Il Fontanaro.
