Saw puffins, dolphins, and Whales. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Used our tickets for a discount at Geosea
We were in Husavik for 5 days so we tried several of the whale watching tours. This tour operator was the best one and we ended up going 3 times. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our son who is an avid whale and marine life fan, was given special attention and a front row seat.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing to join us—not just once, but three times during your stay in Húsavík! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experiences with our crew and that our guides helped make each trip memorable. It means a lot to know your son felt welcome and had such a special experience. We love sharing our passion for whales and marine life with guests of all ages, especially enthusiastic young wildlife fans. Thank you again for your kind words. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Húsavík for more unforgettable whale watching adventures in the future! Daniel
This was one of the highlights of our trip around the whole of Iceland. Obviously the fact that nature cooperated on the day and that we did see various whales contributes to how good the experience was but in general, everything was excellent: the pre-explanation, the sailing speed/observation positions, the boat and the guide. We saw thousands of puffins, many extremely close, and out of the 5 humpback & sperm whales that we saw, one of them actually breached and that was the most incredible moment, everyone was a bit emotional about it, even the guide. The said she has an average of 20 trips per year where whales breach, so we felt a bit lucky. When I came back and bought a jacket at a store nearby the tour guide office, we had a discount by showing our whale watching ticket of this operator, quite nice.
Guide was great. Marine biologist from Italy
Thank you for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed your tour and that our marine biologist guide helped make it a great experience. We appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you back again in the future! Daniel
Amazing experience! We saw at least 4 humpback whales, incredibly active. Mother and calf together, two whales hunting together... Not to mention an absolutely stunning sunset! Captain Austin and our zoologist guide, Kaj, were friendly and knowledgeable. The RIB boat ride itself is a blast as well. It does get cold out on the bay--they provide a protective suit but you'll likely want to bring gloves, hat, and scarf. And if you are prone to motion sickness, be sure to use your Dramamine. But I seriously cannot recommend this tour enough. We did this tour two years ago, and bright our teens with us this time to share the magic with them.
Alexandra and Sophia were an amazing guide and captain. Despite rain and wind we navigated to Puffin island and hung out with a pair of humpback whales that were feeding along the top of the water. Absolutely an unforgettable experience to see the whales that close. Who knew whale watching at midnight would be that awesome!?!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for joining us! We're delighted to hear that Alexandra and Sophia helped make your midnight whale watching tour such a memorable experience. Seeing feeding humpback whales, even in the rain and wind, is truly something special. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Húsavík again in the future! Daniel
One word describes the experience: WOW!! We had a great captain and guide. Those two ladies really made it very special for us. Besides seeing 3 different whales (humpback, fin whale and blue whale) the way how they approached the animals was second to none! They kept a safe distance so the animals didn’t felt threatened or pressured by our presence.
Thank you so much for your fantastic review and for joining us! We're thrilled to hear you had such a memorable experience and were able to see three different whale species. It means a lot that you appreciated our crew's approach to responsible whale watching—we always strive to put the wellbeing of the animals first. We hope to welcome you back to Húsavík again in the future! Daniel
Absolutely AMAZING! Traveled on the 10th June 9am. One of the best experiences of the trip. Firstly our guide was amazing, she was so enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about whales, she was a marine biologist so very knowledgeable. We saw puffins and hump back whales including a mother and calf which is apparently pretty rare in iceland. Husavik is a good place to go for whale watching (we did the entire ring road)
This was my fourth whale-watching experience in Iceland, and one of the poorest. We saw a humpback early on, which was great, but it was clear we weren't expecting to see any others; we stayed, along with five other boats, for most of the hour of viewing (and the whale wasn't particularly interested in staying at the surface, so the time wasn't especially meaningful). However, I understand that nature controls such things. Much more disappointing was the quality of the RIB boat, which is far inferior to the others I've tried in Iceland; this company is sorely in need of an update. There were no suspension seats and instead there's just a fixed beam you're essentially sitting on, with no permission to stand at any point of the experience (another major downside compared to most Iceland tours). That said, it's always a delight to see any whales and Puffin Island was fantastic!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for joining us. We're glad you enjoyed seeing a humpback whale and visiting Puffin Island, even if the overall experience didn't fully meet your expectations. As you mentioned, whale sightings and whale behavior are always unpredictable, and we do our best to provide the best possible experience while respecting the animals and their natural environment. We also appreciate your comments about the RIB boat, as guest feedback is valuable and helps us evaluate how we can continue to improve. Thank you again for your honest review, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Daniel
The crew/ team were amazing. So friendly and knowledgable. It was bitterly cold but they were really upbeat and saved our trip by making my very cold 9 year old laugh. It could have gone very differently 🤣. The clobber they provided was perfect. It protected us really well. The only thing that let us down was the rubbish gloves we brought. We should have had ski gloves! Thank you, we had the best time.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and for choosing to join us! We're delighted to hear that our crew helped make your trip such an enjoyable one, especially for your 9-year-old. Keeping everyone smiling, even on the coldest days, is something we always aim for. We're also glad to hear the warm overalls kept you comfortable—good gloves really do make all the difference! Thank you again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you back for another whale watching adventure in the future. Daniel
