Reisende starten vom Flughafen Hilo, wo sie direkt zum Vulkan-Nationalpark fliegen. Auf dem Weg sehen sie Orchideenfarmen und üppige einheimische Wälder, die größtenteils nur auf einer großen Insel zu finden sind. Der Vulkan-Nationalpark bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf alte und neue Lavaströme.

The pilot could have told us that the volcano was not active that day, but he really didn't say much as he flew us over the crater. If he would have told us, we wouldn't have expected see anything spectacular.
Aloha Gyongyver, Cookie, Jim and I are truly sorry that you were disappointed in the views Mother Nature offered on Sunday. I checked your flight path, and see that The Kilauea Volcano and Volcano National Park was covered. The Kilauea Volcano is considered to be active even when not active erupting red lava.
WHAT A JOKE!! This was touted as a tour of the Volcano National Park. Instead, for our $379 we hovered over lava fields for 50 minutes and saw a couple waterfalls. To make matters worse, employees knew when we checked in there was no way we were going to see the volcano. When you go on a whale watching tour and don’t see whales your fee is reimbursed. No mention of a refund was offered. I will never go on another Safari tour!

The personel and pilot was very professional and experienced. The pilot was very knowledgeable about the volcano and craters from pass eruptions. Good job, keep it up.

The staff were very friendly. The pilot was super knowledgeable about the area. He must be a geographer or nature conservator or something, or may be a PhD holder. I would love to go back to the adventure.

The safari helicopter crew were friendly and very helpful. Our pilot Andrew is very experienced and our flight was very smooth. We were all first time helicopter fliers, so were very nervous but it wasn’t scary at all. He shared lots of fun information about Hawaii and showed us amazing views. One recommendation about the time slot, pick an earlier time if you can. We went around noon and it was really hot even though the helicopter was climate controlled.

We loved our flight and our pilot was excellent. We couldn’t get to the volcano because of rain but he took us over the lava fields, waterfalls, river and part of Hilo. Told us so much stuff during the flight we didn’t even need to use the mic to ask any questions. The ladies helping with take off and landing were super helpful to get us on our flight and extremely nice. Cookie was great! I would take this flight again when visiting Hawaii. First time in a helicopter and was a wonderful experience.

We booked this tour and last minute the weather would not allow us to go to the volcano. Until then it was fine. They could have called us and let us know saving the 2 hour drive there. I got the feeling they did not say anything as once we are there they would send us on another tour. There were 6 of us in the group and either all 6 went on the substituted tour or no one went. Then they proceeded to ask in front of everyone whether we agree to the waterfall tour. While they said no pressure, there is pressure as if 4 agree u feel bad say no. They offered a refund but again all 6 had to agree on the same decision. The waterfall tour was very disappointing as well. They should have communicated much earlier that the weather was not conducive for volcano and only if some wanted to go on the substituted tour that should have been allowed. Will not deal with them again. Weather they can't control. Communication they can.
With deepest apologies for the disappointment I must say that weather calls for each flight hour are made at flight time by the pilot. Our weather changes so very quickly that it is rare that weather calls can be made in advance unless there is a known storm in the area that will affect the flight path for a certain amount of time. Further apologies if it was not made clear that due to weather your Volcano tour for that hour was cancelled. Once cancelled your options for reschedule are given and up to you to accept or decline.
