I had two private lessons with Leandro in Tamarindo as an intermediate surfer and both were excellent. He skipped the gimmicky basics and focused on actually progressing me to the next stage, getting me surfing the face of the wave instead of just going straight. He also shared a lot of theory, which I appreciated: he’s a nerd like me and very precise, so we got on well. He’s meticulous about conditions and made sure we always got in when they were good, which at times meant giving me a longer lesson than I’d paid for. He also still sends me tips remotely after the lessons, which says a lot. Highly recommend, especially if you’re past the beginner stage and want to actually improve rather than just be pushed into whitewater.

My boys shared an instructor and I had one. Professional, fun, and encouraging. They made the last minute decision to try surfing every easy and I was able to stand in less than an hour. My two boys (8 and 10) had been doing some other surf lessons through the week and both said these instructors did more actual teaching and explaining as well as being encouraging. It was a very cool and fun experience and I’d certainly recommend this option if you want to learn to surf.

Leandro was amazing! Our whole family took lessons (kids and adults). Everyone had a blast, learned a lot, and got up on the board. Highly recommend!!

What an incredible experience! My wife and I are beginners and Leandro made it extremely comfortable. The first time was so nice we did it twice. If I’m to visit tamarindo again, this is the place I’m going for surf lessons. Leandro is super calm, composed and very patient. We did a semi private session and we weren’t disappointed at all. I absolutely loved my surf lessons with Leandro. As someone who has been doing kitesurfing for years, I know that many people can surf well but can’t really teach — and Leandro is the opposite. His way of explaining technique and theory is amazing, and once you get into the water, everything suddenly makes sense. Beyond being a great professional, I also really appreciated his mindset and approach to surfing. I feel very lucky to have learned from him. Highly recommend, and if I come back to Costa Rica, I will definitely surf with Leandro again.

We had an amazing experience with surf lessons in Tamarindo! The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and encouraging from start to finish. You can truly tell how hard they work. They didn’t stop until everyone in our group felt comfortable and had a great time out on the water. Their patience and positive energy made all the difference, especially for beginners. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Tamarindo and looking to try surfing. You won’t be disappointed!

We had a very large group for surfing; however, it didn’t feel that way! From check-in, to lessons and surfing we were all doing something. Our instructors were patient and thorough! The best part, there in the water the entire time to help you!!!! My son fell in love with surfing! I highly recommend booking!!! You won’t regret it!!! ☀️🩵
