Besichtigung und Verkostung in der Striped Pig Distillery

One of the owners gave us an informative tour and it was great! After the tour in the back we enjoyed a flight tasting of 4 of the liquor that is distilled there. The Southern Pecan Bourbon was our favorite!

On a girls' trip and decided to visit this local craft distillery. They produce a variety of spirits, and they let you taste them all! They were delicious! I ended up purchasing the Doppio (which is an espresso flavored vodka) which tastes like an espresso martini! I also took home the Southern Pecan Bourbon with natural pecan and vanilly flavors--smooth enough to drink straight and perfect for fall! I wanted to bring home something to my bourbon-loving husband, so asked a local bourbon club member who was visiting with his club to suggest a bourbon for him. He insisted I buy BOTH the Kentucky bourbon (aged 4 years in KY then 4 years in SC) AND the Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon. He LOVES both! Everyone had a cocktail after our tasting, and they were all delicious! A hidden treasure!

As a small craft distillery, the tour itself is Remy explaining the process around the room - from distillation to bottling. But the story of the creation of the Striped Pig, what they have accomplished and where they are going is. nothing short of AMAZING!! AND the bourbons are phenomenal!! Never much for “flavored” bourbon? They will CHANGE YOUR MIND with both the Southern Pecan and Black Cherry Bourbons!! Black Cherry is an old-fashioned in an amazing bottle - just add a dash of bitters and an orange peel/cherry (no sugar needed!)! And a smooth sipping Southern Pecan is almost impossible to resist!!

We went to the Striped Pig for a Tour and tasting and had a Wonderful time. We learned things we did not previously know. The tasting was fun again learned things about the product and process we did not know. We had our favorites and purchases were made I recommend you try the striped Pig distillery

We booked tickets for a Saturday afternoon tour. Running a little late from the activity before the tour, and not wanting to miss the tour, we ended up booking some additional tickets for the following hour’s tour. We arrived after the first tour had left, so we had a couple of cocktails at the bar while we waited for the next tour. Amanda took good care of us and the cocktails at the bar were great! We even had some limited run strawberry tequila in one of the margaritas, which was excellent. (I hope they might consider bottling a limited production run of this, even if it’s a seasonal offer, as it was quite good!) The tour itself was excellent. It was a small group that allowed plenty of time for questions. Unlike most other distillery tour & tastings we have done where the tastings are at the end of the tour, Striped Pig put the tastings first, and then the tour. We really enjoyed the tastings and tour. I mentioned the two different sets of tickets in the beginning of the review, only because when we arrived, our tour host recognized we had tickets on both tours and wanted to make sure we weren’t waiting on others. After explaining we weren’t waiting for others, and that we were just running late, he offered to have the earlier tour tickets refunded, which of course we immediately turned around and used the value up on our take home alcohol purchases. This was all around a top shelf experience and we would highly recommend to others!
