Berlin Craft Beer & Kulturtour mit Snack

Ultimately, our beer tour ended up being private as the other group cancelled- which was great. Alex really made the tour a 10/10 experience and made us feel welcome. He was highly knowledgeable not only regarding beer, but also in regards to the local community/architecture. This tour was a great way to not only get a taste of the beer scene in Berlin, but also to see Friedrichstraße and more of the east side (especially if your hotel is in the Mitte area near most of the tourist attractions). This was a wonderful way to end our time in Berlin, and I would certainly recommend it to any couples or groups visiting the area.

This craft beer tour is an excellent and bang for your buck way to have some low pressure, high value fun while learning a little slice of the magic that is all over East Berlin. As a first timer visiting, the guide Alex did a great job of personalizing a tour that was fun, educational AND had several flights of BEER. We met at Ostkreutz, very easy to find, with introductions and some historical references of the area and got an overview of what to expect on our 3+ hour excursion. I’d already been exploring the area a bit, but having a local explain some of the historical references added layers to things I had even previously seen that I really appreciated. The guide was personable and engaging, and our group of 4 was at ease heading to a local craft brewery where a pre-panned flight of different beer was arranged and served at a private, quiet table in the back. I loved this place so much that I went back twice after the tour was over on subsequent days! Not only were the beer choices excellent but Alex knew a ton about the history of small batch brewing throughout Germany and Central Europe. I think we’ve probably all heard that beer, for a long time, was safer to drink than water in many cities. Alex made sure to remind us to use the facilities before leaving and I definitely appreciated that because if you don’t already know, there’s no readily available toilets for public access in Berlin! We then took a walk through some neighborhoods and got some architectural and historical references that I would have otherwise missed, asked questions and got recommendations for other places to check out and he even arranged for us to have a ‘roadie’ along the way. Our last stop was a hidden beer garden that I would have never found without his help, so charming, with flowers and a large patio and another delicious beer flight and a hearty snack. As of August, 2026 we were walking through a heavily graffitied area that turns into the night clubbing area at night and there were a lot of signs talking about protecting the history and culture and music that goes on there… apparently the gentrification of East Berlin continues so who knows what will be there in the future, definitely worth getting your eyes (and taste buds) on. I tell all my friends to take this tour, it was an unforgettable day

My daughter, husband and I ended up being the only people on this tour. Alex was amazing and made our tour very interesting and fun. We learned a lot about the beer making process and the neighborhood. All the beer was good. We highly recommend to anyone who want a fin neighborhood vibe and great craft beer

We found this trip on Tripadvisor and we do not regret that we joined.It was only us 2, with the tour guide, so we were very well taken care of. A lot of good local beer and the guide had extremely good knowledge of beer. This was very educational. Got to see Berlin beyond the center which was awesome. Recommend the trip on the strongest.

We actually had two separate tours during our recent trip to Germany! The walking beer and the walking food. Both were a perfect blend of food/culture and unique history from the neighborhoods we visited. Alex was an outstanding host for both of our walking tours.

Our beer guide Alex was excellent! He shared his extensive knowledge of beer making and educated us on the different types and processing of the different ales and lagers. Nice tour of Freidrichshain and the artsy scene. Highly recommend, especially if you like beer!
