Of course, you can also make your own plan and explore Bergamo on your own. It is much easier to download this guide and simply follow Matteo's path. You are guided perfectly through the old town and receive all important information about the sights. Matteo's coffee, ice cream, and food recommendations are simply put: Super! We were at La Tana for lunch, fantastic!

Affordable and very good and informative

I bought the digital guide which is very easy to use, you get sent a PIN number a couple of days before you want to use it and you can then launch the guide as often as you would like. You can either read the text that is supplied for each point of interest, or listen to the audio. In the end I actually did the in-person tour with Matteo. He is a charming, entertaining and informative chap! We saw lots of hidden places in Bergamo that we would not have found ourselves, he was also very helpful about which museums etc are worth a visit. He gave us some great food and gelato tips as well - I tried the salted pistachio from Carmen Gelato and it was delicious. I highly recommend the in person or digital tour from Matteo (same content).

We really wanted the audio guide to work. We followed the instructions, contacted the owner Matteo, followed more instructions. We were able to listen to the first two stops and then it just stopped working on my phone. My husband’s worked sometimes. Lots of frustration. The owner was responsive but ultimately blamed our connection. Of course we have no control over our connection. The owner knew it wasn’t working for us and did not offer a refund.

Error: Bergamo, citta alta. The map should be more precise and detailed and contain at least the numbered objects from the text. The text should number all objects and (see above). When clicking the QR code on the information boards, one should be connected to visit bergamo. Often, however, only an error message (404) appears.

Very good audio tour of Bergamo including simple to follow instructions, interesting facts about the selected sights and additional information including restaurant recommendations. Proceed at your own pace and on your schedule. We usually hire private guides or take small group tours, but this is an excellent value and especially good if you are not sure of your exact schedule. The tour designer was helpful with additional questions such as a good place to park.

The handling was simple and the information was very interesting and informative!
