Hier sind Mlan Obrenovic (der älteste Sohn von Milos Obrenovic) und das Ehepaar König Alexander I. Obrenovic und seine Frau, Königin Draga, begraben. An der Stelle, wo heute die Kirche steht, wurde 1830 das Sultansedikt verlesen, das die serbische Autonomie innerhalb der Türkei verkündete.
Das Haus der Nationalversammlung, eines der monumentalsten Gebäude des ehemaligen Königreichs Jugoslawien, wurde zwischen 1907 - 1936 erbaut. Die Geschichte seines Baus, mit zahlreichen Unterbrechungen und Projektänderungen und unter Beteiligung der wichtigsten nationalen Architekten der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts, steht symbolisch für die Geschichte des serbischen und dann des jugoslawischen Staates und ihres parlamentarischen Lebens. Mit seinen außergewöhnlichen architektonischen und künstlerischen Qualitäten sticht der Palast im architektonischen Umfeld der Hauptstadt hervor. Bereits 1892 übertrug das Bauministerium dem Architekten Konstantin A. Jovanovic die Ausführung dieses Projekts, doch aufgrund politischer Turbulenzen und finanzieller Schwierigkeiten verschob sich die Errichtung des Gebäudes um mehrere Jahre, als der Architekt Jovan Ilkic mit dieser Aufgabe beauftragt wurde.
Der Alte Palast, der Königspalast der Obrenović-Dynastie Serbiens, in dem derzeit die Stadtversammlung von Belgrad untergebracht ist, befindet sich an der Ecke der Straßen Kralja Milana und Dragoslava Jovanovića. Es wurde zwischen 1882 und 1884 nach dem Entwurf von Aleksandar Bugarski gebaut. Durch seine äußere Architektur ist das Gebäude eine der schönsten Errungenschaften der Wissenschaft in Serbien des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Das Hotel Moskva ist ein historisches Vier-Sterne-Hotel mit 123 Zimmern in der Innenstadt von Belgrad, Serbien, das 1908 am Terazije-Platz im unverwechselbaren russischen Sezessionsstil gegründet wurde. Es ist als Kulturdenkmal geschützt und verfügt über ein berühmtes Café, Restaurant und Spa, in dem Prominente wie Albert Einstein und Robert De Niro zu Gast waren.
Platz der Republik (Trg Republike) Der Haupttreffpunkt für Belgrader. Heute befindet sich der zentrale Platz Belgrads an einer Stelle, an der früher die Tore zur Stadt standen.

Das Denkmal der Dankbarkeit für Frankreich, das Werk des Bildhauers Ivan Meštrović, wurde 1930 am Ende der Hauptgasse des Kalemegdan-Parks errichtet.
Die Belgrader Festung besteht aus der alten Zitadelle und dem Kalemegdan-Park am Zusammenfluss von Save und Donau in einem Stadtgebiet des modernen Belgrad, Serbien. Die Festung liegt in der Belgrader Gemeinde Stari Grad und bildet den spezifischen historischen Kern der Stadt.
Das Victor-Denkmal ist sicherlich das bekannteste Symbol Belgrads. Es entstand in den Jahren vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg, aber seine Entstehung dauerte ungewöhnlich lange. Das Denkmal zur Erinnerung an den Sieg der serbischen Armee in den Balkankriegen war ursprünglich als Brunnen gedacht, der im Zentrum Belgrads, auf Terazije, aufgestellt werden sollte. Die Aufgabe wurde einem der bedeutendsten Künstler seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts übertragen, dem Bildhauer Ivan Mestrovic. Zu Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs hatte er den zentralen Teil des Brunnens in Form einer nackten männlichen Figur gegossen, die in der rechten Hand ein Schwert (ein Symbol des Krieges) und in der linken Hand einen Falken (ein Symbol des Friedens) — den Victor — hielt.

The guide is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour covers many points of interest in central Belgrade that you can revisit to explore in more detail if you have time. Highly recommended.
Aleksander was a great guide. He showed me all the interesting stuff, and noticed immediately what i was interested in. Coffee at the Moskva hotel was the highlight!

What an amazing walking tour of Belgrade. I learned a TON about Serbia and Belgrade specifically!! There was much history and I finished the tour with a much deeper appreciation of both Belgrade and the Serbian people in general. I highly recommend this tour!
I had the most fun and informative 3 hours with my guide Alexsander. We walked all over the city and I learned the historical significance of many buildings and statutes. We even came across procycling teams preparing for a competition and stopped to speak to a few of them. The time flew by very quickly as there was so much to see and learn. And the Turkish coffee was excellent. Belgrade is beautiful and I highly recommend Alexsander as a guide as he made the walking experience so much better with his insights and knowledge.
Aleksandr was excellent in his explanations—clear and full of insight. His love for his city and country was evident as he shared its history along with little-known facts. The tour experience was truly enjoyable, and I found it a pleasure not only to listen but also to share some facts about my own country with him. Despite the grey sky and light rain, the tour was enjoyable, thanks to his enthusiasm, knowledge, and the beauty of the city.
Excellent tour, had time to see all the main sights in a short time. I liked what Alexander said about Belgrade, taking into account the cultural specificities of each guest. Even though we were all from different countries, everyone was able to find a piece of their homeland in Serbia. This suggests that the guide has extensive knowledge beyond the route he created.
I booked a walking tour with Aleksandar last minute on Trip Advisor as I had been a little unorganized and there were not many options with availability left. Let me be clear – I am very pleased with the decision I made. The tour is genuine value for money. Aleksandar as an individual is a fascinating person to talk to. Mixing that with his knowledge of Belgrade and its history made for a genuinely entertaining and informative few hours. I had a particular interest in the recent history of Belgrade, specifically the NATO bombings. Not only has Aleksandar read and studied this part of history, but he was in the city at the time and experienced it as well. Do not hesitate when it comes to booking a tour with Aleksandar – you will not regret it. Additionally, if he recommends eating at one of his brother's 4 Smash Burger restaurants, then don’t ignore him. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Aleksandar. Aleksandar is a nice guy, but the tour was less historical and more political. He offered to take us anywhere we wanted and I said I'd like to stick to the itinerary listed, he did not . Very disappointing, we had to excuse ourselves from the tour.
I had the best time being shown around by Aleksander. The man knows everything and speaks with objectivity and passion about the history and culture of his region. It was pretty humbling to see and made me realise how relatively little I know about the history of my own region because, during my life, we have lived through a period of peace, democracy and progress (this is all relative, of course). I would highly recommend going on this tour. You won’t regret it!
