Die Basilika des Heiligen Nikolaus ist sowohl für römisch-katholische als auch für orthodoxe Christen ein bedeutendes Wallfahrtsziel und eine der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten
Die Kathedrale ist der Sitz des Erzbischofs von Bari-Bitonto und dem Heiligen Sabinus geweiht, einem Bischof von Canosa, dessen Reliquien im 9. Jahrhundert hierher gebracht wurden. Hier können Sie die unterirdischen römischen Mauern namens Succorpo bewundern.
Im normannisch-schwäbischen Schloss ist die Sammlung von Gipsabgüssen untergebracht sowie temporäre Kunstausstellungen.
Die Piazza Ferrarese war schon immer einer der Zugänge zur Altstadt, die sich mit ihren engen Gassen, Gässchen und kleinen Durchgängen von der Piazza Ferrarese – Piazza Mercantile bis zur Burg Normanno-Svevo erstreckt. Bei den jüngsten Restaurierungsarbeiten, die nicht nur den Platz, sondern auch die umliegenden Gebäude betrafen, kam ein kurzer Abschnitt der antiken Via Appia – Traiana zum Vorschein, die von den Römern im frühen 2. Jahrhundert n. Chr. erbaut worden war.
Der Platz war schon immer das Herzstück des Handels- und Verwaltungslebens der Stadt, was auf den städtischen Markt (der sich derzeit nicht mehr an diesem Ort befindet) und den Palazzo Sedile zurückzuführen ist, der als historischer Sitz des Rathauses von Bari gilt. Heute ist es für die Bürger von Bari ein unverzichtbarer Treffpunkt.

It was excellent I would highly recommend it we had a great time making the orechetti with Maria and our tour guide Anna gave us just enough information about the Old Bari town
Probably the worst walking tour we’ve ever done. The tour guide, while pleasant, provided no history, commentary or anecdotes of Bari whatsoever. Just walks to sites which we could easily do on our own. The pasta making session was worthwhile and fun. Don’t waste your time on this walk.
Alessia was a great guide. Showed us everything from Bari Vecchia and the new part of the city.

We had the best time in Bari, this tour delivered everything described and more. Chaira the tour leader was BRILLIANT! Incredibly knowledgable, efficient and funny! The pasta making was a wonderful experience and we ate delicious pasta (not the ones we made! lol!)

This tour is very fun! Not as much walking as I thought. You see the important parts of old Bari and get some history behind it as well. This tour did not have any ear piece to “hear” the guide better……. Which I LOVED. The guide Chaira (hopefully spelled correctly) told us to get close and we could hear her just fine! We added the pasta experience and it was a blast!!! Got to try the authentic Bari pasta from a resident of Bari. And she was super kind and welcoming!! Highly recommend to add that experience !
