Der Besuch von Banganga Tank bietet eine außergewöhnliche Gelegenheit, in die Geschichte der Stadt einzutauchen und zu erfahren, wie sie sich von sieben dünn besiedelten Inseln zu der geschäftigen Metropole entwickelt hat, die sie heute ist. Der Banganga Walkeshwar Walk wird von einer schmalen Straße flankiert, die von Tempeln, Häusern und Dharamsalas (religiösen Rasthäusern) gesäumt ist. Es bildet die Route des heiligen Parikrama, eines Rundgangs um den Tank zu Fuß, von dem Hindus glauben, dass er immense reinigende Vorteile hat. Es gibt auch einen Dhobi Ghat, Mumbais berühmteste Open-Air-Wäscherei.

Vordringen von Migrantengemeinschaften: Das Gebiet ist die Heimat von Slumbewohnern, die es in den letzten Jahrzehnten bewohnt haben. 8. Dhobi Ghat: Zweitgrößte Wäscherei in Mumbai, wo Sie eine Open-Air-Wäscherei sehen, die von den Briten gebaut wurde.

I attended the Banganga walk organized by Khaki tours on 10th July. It was a great experience visiting a place in Mumbai where it seems like time has stood still. The surroundings around the Banganga tank haven't changed much since the last 100-150 yrs. It still resembled the pictures which were taken a century ago. Even the lifestyle of people in that area hasn't caught up with the hustle and bustle of rest of the Modern Mumbai. You could feel a slow and calm pace that's inherent in this area. Overall an enriching experience.
