Baldi Hot Springs Tagespass in La Fortuna : 25 Thermalbäder

Their website had open available spots for June 1st. So me and my husband booked the spots. It did not tell us until after we checkout and paid that it was for June 2nd. I called the company in confusion because we are leaving the 2nd to fly home so I know I booked for June 1st and it said June 1st. They told me basically oh well there are no spots available, they can not squeeze us in and they won’t refund us. They told us they would update the website meaning it was their mistake but still would not refund the money. Rip off.

We recently went to Baldi on a day pass while on a family trip in Costa Rica. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (ages 9 and 12) and 2 adults. We pre-purchased our passes because we had heard it could be really busy and wanted to avoid lines- however we were shocked that there was no line or wait at all. It was actually shockingly not busy at all or at least didn't seem to be to us! We arrived for around 9:00 a.m. (or whenever it opened) and stayed until about 7:00 p.m. We had an absolute blast exploring Baldi and all it had to offer. We visited every single hot spring and feature it had to offer. The kids didn't get bored for a single second and really loved the little hidden nooks, waterfalls and pools. Of course they LOVED the kid's area, especially the extreme waterslides and went on these for the majority of the day. I will say, we are a very adventurous family who loves roller coasters and waterslides more than most and the waterslides at Baldi are no joke. The 3 more extreme slides are very intense especially the one middle one- so take the warnings with caution and beware. That said- I could sit in the pool at the bottom of that slide and be entertained for days on end watching people shoot out of it and their reaction!! There is a Baldi kid section as well that would be suitable for younger children- it wasn't as big but definitely fun for the little ones! I did find however that for the fun kids stuff it's sort of little-kid ish or very extreme!! Not much in between- although you do have endless pools to explore as well. We had lunch at Baldi and ordered in the pool towards the front entrance. It was easy and very delicious. The kids were very happy with the food as well. We also had drinks throughout the day too and they were also yummy! I would highly recommend checking out Baldi for the day, especially if you have children or like water slides! You can also change your towels for fresh ones whenever needed which is really helpful when you are there for the day, especially if it's rainy like when we were there! Oh- and speaking of the rain... we weren't bothered at all by the fact that it was a pretty rainy day since we were wet and in pools all day. That said, there are some pools and large areas that are well covered too- so you can get some reprieve from the weather if you like!

First time doing Baldi Hot Springs. We are a family of 5 with three small children. The place is a 10/10. The thermal pools range from warm to very hot. Our kids loved that all the pools were warm and they even had slides. Food at the sit down restaurant was very good. Food at the buffet was okay. Bring CASH to “borrow” towels. $10/ per towel. Also, don’t book through travel app. The hotel will not be able to find your reservation. Purchase the tickets directly from Baldi. We made this mistake and had to wait 30 mins while they tried to contact the third party that booked the tickets. The hotel said they’ve been having major issues with third party companies not sending the reservation details. Overall, amazing resort. Go if you’ve never been!

Loved Baldi. Plenty of hot springs pools. Quiet in the opening hours busier as the day progressed. Not crowded. Friendly staff.

This place sucks. They say 20+ pools, but there are really only 3 that are decent: Giant Jacuzzi, Roca di Baldi, and the pool where the water slides let out. All of the others are about 8 inches deep. Most of the bars were closed. Half the place looked abandoned. I wish we had gone elsewhere, but it was too late to book anything else. Unless you absolutely need water slides, I recommend avoiding Baldi. If you do go, towels require a cash-only deposit of $10/each. There is no ATM nearby.

Beautiful surroundings. Pools are gorgeous

I only came for a day pass in the evening. Very few people were here so it felt like we owned the place!! The pools and the ambience were amazing. I highly recommend that you visit! I’ll certainly be coming back! The cave sauna is an amazing place to settle down, and the upper pool with the 100ft hot spring waterfall was amazing!

We bought the day pass but didn’t get there till around 2:00. We didn’t feel rushed and were able to do every pool by dinnertime. We didn’t eat there, but we got alcoholic drinks at several pool bars. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the variety of pool settings and waterfalls and caves we could stand in. The water was clean and just hot enough. Glad we 4 adults did this!

Such a chill day! My husband and I had such a relaxing morning at Baldi. Full disclosure: we just went to this hot springs because it was a last minute decision, and nowhere else was available. We got pleasantly surprised with a chill environment, great staff and clean areas. The slides were fun. Lunch was ok, what you’d expect for an average buffet. Bathrooms and changing rooms were clean and well maintained. Please note we went there for just a couple hours during the afternoon. We passed by at night and the place seemed packed. I don’t think Baldi should be overlooked though. Easy access doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it
