If you’re visiting Phuket, don’t miss A Chef’s Tour—it was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We were travelling with three children, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Lucky, was fantastic from start to finish. She was warm, knowledgeable, organised and made everything so easy for our family. She kept the tour engaging, shared fascinating insights into Thai culture and cuisine, and made sure everyone—including the kids—felt included and comfortable throughout. The food was incredible. We visited a fantastic variety of local eateries and tasted dishes we never would have found on our own. Every stop offered something different, from authentic street food to local specialties, and each dish was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect balance of trying new flavours while learning about the history and traditions behind them. What really stood out was how seamlessly everything was organised. We never had to worry about transport, finding locations or ordering food—Lucky took care of it all, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. Even with three kids, the pace was perfect, and the tour never felt rushed. A Chef’s Tour gave us a genuine taste of Phuket beyond the tourist hotspots and introduced us to places we would have completely overlooked. It was a fun, authentic and memorable experience that our whole family loved. If you’re looking for one experience that combines amazing food, local culture and wonderful hospitality, book this tour. Cat was a super star tour guide! Very knowledgeable on all the restaurants and their specialties. We really enjoyed all the dishes (outside of the usual pad Thai, green curry, mango sticking rice dishes). The Old town experience was great, probably a bit crowded due to the Sunday night market but overall our party of 9 had a great evening. We definitely got some steps in which really helped to balance out all the food! Thanks again Cat and A Chefs Tour!
This experience was amazing. We toured with Gigi and had an amazing time, she knew almost everyone not only from the restaurant's but from the streets as well. You get an abundant amount of food during this tour. The admission fee is extremely fair for the amount of time you spend on the tour, the information you learn, and of course the food you eat. The group size is good enough to not be over crowded but perfect for the amount t if time to get to know each other. Over all it was a good experience and the atmosphere was amazing.
Cat was our guide. Cat was at the meeting place early had our group of 5 checked in early and we began the tour on time - always a great start. Cat explained everything we had planned for the day and moved us out. Not only did she tell us about the places we would be visiting, she informed us of the culture, history and how the area had developed and why it had developed that way. It was very informative and interesting. She also let us know to save room throughout the tour. You do not have to eat everything which was great advice. The tour lasted about three and a half hours. It was a perfect amount of time. We never felt rushed or hurried along. By the end of the tour, you were left wondering where I am going to fit the dessert??? but we all managed somehow. If your are questioning if you should take the tour or do it on your own, just sign up and do the tour. My wife and I have been travelling to Phuket for nearly 20 years. During this food tour we discovered a whole new love for the island and the locals that permanently live here. Our tour guide was Cat and she gave us a great overall experience of the Historic Phuket town and the mix of cultures that have made it what it is today. The food was great with a range of favourites that we will certainly visit again on our next trip.
We had a lovely lady by the name of Lucky take us through this food tour. She was full of knowledge full of character and was so special we absolutely loved her. The food was beautiful. The people we met was incredible and we had the most amazing four hours I highly recommend it.
