Orheiul Vechi ("Altes Orhei") ist ein spektakulärer archäologischer Komplex, der etwa 60 km nordöstlich von Chişinău zwischen den Dörfern Trebujeni und Butuceni liegt. Dieses wunderschöne Tal, das vom Fluss Răut begrenzt wird, ist eine der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten des Landes. Das Panorama ist atemberaubend schön. Es gibt mehrere alte Gebäude aus verschiedenen Epochen. In den Felsen gegrabene Festungen, Reste einer Moschee und christliche Klöster machen den Ort zu einem herausragenden Vertreter der reichen und bewegten Geschichte der Region. Ein kleines lokales Museum bietet den Besuchern alle notwendigen Informationen.
Das Curchi-Kloster ist eines der bedeutendsten Denkmäler der moldauischen Architektur. Es befindet sich in der Region Orhei, 55 km von der Hauptstadt Chisinau entfernt. Auf der rechten Seite des Vatici-Tals, am Fuße des Waldes, genannt "Codru". Diese Klosteranlage hat eine kulturelle und religiöse Geschichte von zweieinhalb Jahrhunderten und gilt als die schönste und berühmteste Kultstätte in Bessarabien. Die Lage des Klosters Curchi ist dank der Natur, die es umgibt, von seltener Pracht. Es badet in einem grünen Meer und taucht mit seinen weißen und roten Wänden in einen fabelhaften Kontrast.

A really good tour to beautiful and peaceful locations. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. The monastery was highlight. Such stunning surroundings. This is a wonderful way to explore Moldova outside of the capital. A really real ‘must’ for including, in any visit to Chisinau.
Very pleasant visit with my family, our very professional and patient guide. Made us a very complete story about Moldovan history, and showed us well around the village ... The restaurant where have it stopped for lunch was excellent, typical cuisine as well as the very warm setting.
My cousin and I had a wonderful time on our trip to Orhei Vechi. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Andrian is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Moldova and shared fascinating insights about the monasteries we visited. Very nice drive to make 2 stops to see monasteries. Tour guide went out of his way so I could take a picture of Stephen the Great statue.
My tour guide Tim was excellent! Fluent in English. He is very good at telling traditions and reporting on the country and people. He has a very broad knowledge of the country, culture, economy and much more. The tour was exclusively focused on cultural sites, of which there would be more. No photograph can reflect what you see and experience in person. Monasteries are very well preserved. Hiking trails are well signposted. Pure nature!

Great experience, perfectly designed to see most of what’s to be seen in the area in a condensed timeframe & with comfort. Andrian is very nice, provider a wealth of information of Moldova past & contemporary, and gives plenty of flexibility to enjoy things at your own rhythm. The lunch he recommended was super good and incredible value for money. I’m female, was travelling solo and felt super safe all the time :)
