Unser erster Halt ist Assin Manso Slave Ancestral River Site, wo die versklavten Vorfahren ihr letztes Bad hatten, bevor sie sie zur endgültigen Verschiffung nach Cape Coast und Elmina Castles brachten. Nach Assin Manso ziehen wir nach Cape Coast Castle für die Hauptgeschichte über den Sklavenhandel während der Transatlantischen Sklavenhandelsära und sehen die TÜR DER NICHT ZURÜCKKEHR. Nach dem Schloss können wir die Wanderung zum Kakum Nationalpark genießen, während wir auf den Canopy Walk im Park gehen. Machen Sie sich bereit für eine spannende, aber körperlich anstrengende (15 - 20 Minuten) Wanderung in einem dichten Regenwald. Wir werden einen Hügel erklimmen, also sportliche Schuhe, Turnschuhe und Gesichtstuch für die Waldwanderung tragen. NB : 3 Optionen zur Auswahl. Die Teilnehmer unternehmen eine Wanderung durch den Regenwald und wandern auf dem Canopy Walk Way.
Cape Coast Castle diente als eine der Sklavenburgen, die an der Küste von Ghana gebaut wurden. Es diente auch als Verwaltungszentrum für die britische Herrschaft in Westafrika. Die Teilnehmer besuchen das Museum und die Kerker, in denen Sklaven gehalten wurden, während sie auf den Versand in die Neue Welt warteten.
Wir besuchen den Sklavenfluss Assin Manso, der als Ort diente, an dem Sklaven ihr letztes Bad auf afrikanischem Boden hatten, bevor sie zu den Sklavenburgen hinuntermarschiert wurden. Sie wurden gefüttert und geputzt, damit sie attraktiv und gesund aussahen, um höhere Preise zu garantieren. Heiße Brandeisen wurden verwendet, um Erkennungszeichen auf die Haut von Gefangenen zu brennen. Die Spuren waren eine Narbe auf der Schulter, der Brust oder dem Oberarm, um den Besitz zu zeigen. In anderen Fällen wurde das Branding verwendet, um zu zeigen, dass der Zoll ordnungsgemäß bezahlt wurde. Es ist jetzt ein heiliger Ort der Erinnerung. Es ist die Heimat der ersten beiden Diasporas (Lady Crystal aus Jamaika und Samuel Carson aus New York), deren Überreste durch die „Tür der Rückkehr“ nach Ghana gebracht und wiederbestattet wurden. Auch Überreste afrikanischer Sklavennachkommen aus Barbados sind auf dem Gelände begraben, um Emanzipation und Wiederverbindung zu symbolisieren.

For the past five years I’ve been studying my ancestry and I believe this trip is a necessity for everyone in the African diaspora. The long drive from my hotel to Slave River was so worth it for the wealth knowledge you receive from the tour guides. Jeff was a great driver and accommodating to my family needs. If you’re debating which castle to go to, Elmina is a must.

The history and significance of the Slave River and Castles were palpable and powerful. However the knowledge and flexibility of the guide along with the cleanliness of the transportation were less than desirable. Although this is not the accountabilty of the tour operator visitors should be alerted to the fact that because of road conditions the 95 mile drive can take 4 to 5 hours.
I am sorry you experienced that and we will take your review seriously in order to correct issues raised but our guide explained to you that portion of the road is under construction before the journey began so we are surprised you raised it that the guide didn't tell you about the nature of and the hours it will take but in all we accept it and we shall henceforth inform our cherish clients ahead of time and we shall make sure the vehicle is very cleaned to that standard you prefer before using it. What a memorable day on this tour with the excellent guide, Freedom! He was on time, so knowledgeable, and Kadelo Travels was very communicative. Being a solo female traveler on this tour, most importantly, I felt safe. This is a heavy tour but so important to see, and I’m so glad I did. I left Assin Manso and Cape Coast Castle deep in thought and contemplation. I chose the canopy walk as the third destination, but you could pick from either that or Elmina Castle.
