We went on this trip from a cruise ship in the port. Our guide (Yoav) met us right at the ship and we were on our way. Along the way he described a lot about life in Israel and how complicated it can be with the neighboring countries. We got a little bit of history and saw first hand some of the realities and challenges that you don't get from history books in the U.S. school system. The drive to Jerusalem was very nice and he pointed out some interesting items as we went along. Jerusalem was so eye opening. We started with a high overlook from the mountains to the East and looked down at the old city were he showed some of the highlights that provided a perspective of what we would see later, which was very helpful. There was a decent amount of walking through Jerusalem, which was nice but you need to be prepared to walk. We hit all the highlights in the tour description but Yoav provided some interesting commentary and insights. We had a very nice lunch in the old city that he arranged for us (you have to pay, but he did the arrangements. You spend several hours in Jerusalem seeing all four of the quarters and some extremely historic and interesting site. I will not spoil it but it is well worth the walking. The trip to the Dead Sea took about an hour but the scenery changes quite a bit. The Dead Sea itself was interesting...quick tip, do not shave face, legs, or anything else the day you are going. Just trust me on that...the water is saltier than anything you have ever experienced and your choice as to how you want to remember it. It was worth the drive but the floating was a bit underwhelming, glad I did it but far and away the star of the day was Jerusalem. Overall, long day, great day, and a great tour guide and company. Highly recommended.
Thanks so much for this sincere and detailed review and most of all we appreciate your expression of gratitude for the excellent tour guide Yoav. He sure deserves your praise for his efforts and enlightening commentary.

Did this excursion while on a 9 day cruise to Greece, Turkey and Israel. Our tour guide’s name was “Dorit”. She was amazing! Very knowledgeable of the life of Christ and history of Israel. She gave so much clarity to bibles stories and made the tour enjoyable and memorable.
Much appreciate it, and thank you so much for this favorable feedback on Dorit H. she deserves your feedback for her efforts and professional tour management.
This tour was absolutely amazing. The sights, information and explanation made the Bible come alive. Our tour guide Dorit made it all come alive. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and give our group of 10 a journey through Jerusalem that made us feel like we where there walking with Jesus. Thanks to Dorit, I now have a better understanding and appreciation for certain context in the Bible. I definitely recommend this tour and if Dorit is your guide, we’ll, it will be unforgettable.
Thanks so much for sharing your immense satisfaction with Dorit. She is most worthy of such feedback for her efforts. We are most pleased you came away with a memorable tour experience
Original guide, Zohar, was awful. Unsafe driver, late pickup, got lost, disorganized, walked extremely slow, rude to other people, unfriendly...ugh. Contacted tour operator and they were great in quickly providing a replacement guide. Gil was outstanding to take over tour. Professional, informative, friendly, responsible, helpful, enjoyable. Touring with Gil highly recommended!

Our day with YOAV was wonderful! He is terrific and we learned so much from Him. A great representative of Viator! He went above and beyond to provide us with as much information as we could absorb - and more! We will return to Jersulaem again.
Jerusalem and Dead Sea is a lot of ground to cover from Ashdod. But we only had 2 days in Ashdod and wanted to cover Jerusalem and Dead Sea day 1, Tel Aviv day 2. So this worked out well. Our driver / guide picked us up at the dock in front of our ship. Meeting up was very convenient. Yael was a great guide. Very friendly and attentive. Old City Jerusalem is a lot of walking up and down hills, stairs, and narrow streets. In the heat, this was quite tiring. We ran into a major Jewish holiday, which made it super crowded. We covered the Jewish and Arab quarters. Walked the trail for Jesus' crucifixion. Dead Sea is a 45 min drive from Jerusalem through the Jordanian desert. It's fun to float around for 30 min. A surreal experience. But the super saline water stung my eyes and hurt my skin a bit. I left the water after about 30 min. We asked to be dropped off in Jerusalem around 6:30. We walked around the city for an hour. Then the tour company arranged for a taxi to take us back to Ashdod. It ended up being about an 11-12 hour day, but very memorable and worth it!

Ahmed was an awesome tour guide, grew up locally in Jerusalem, knew all the best viewing spots, stores and restaurants. His information sharing was very impressive and his conversations educational. Showed us the best route in Jerusalem to get maximum experience from our tour. Dead Sea was completely different from what we pictured. An amazing day, what an adventure.
