Arnhem Land Yingana Injalak Hill Ganztagestour ab Darwin

Beschreibung

An absolutely brilliant experience from the moment I was picked up until I was dropped off. Tim, the tour guide, was wonderful ensuring the experience wasn’t ruined by time constraints. This meant we were able to enjoy everything and not worry we were moving onto something else before we were ready. Being guided by Shaun up Injalak hill was so special and the stories he told were both wonderful and disturbing and we climbed up during a controlled burn, in no danger whatsoever. Sadly the arts centre was closed (Kings birthday!) but the Art around the building was sensational. A lot of driving, but this really didn’t matter…I had never been to Kakadu or Arnhem land before so was in awe of everything I saw. Don’t miss this tour…it’s wonderful…..and lunch was delicious too especially sitting looking over the land below us.
Kammak and thankyou for taking the time to review our Yingana (the Creation mother) experience. :)
I went on the tour on 3rd of June and I had an awesome experience. Tim was absolutely fantastic and made me feel extremely welcome and went out of he's way to provide a once in a Life experience. The Aboriginal guide Shaun was unreal and provided an amazing and exceptional tour of his homeland. The total experience moved me deeply. I highly recommend this tour to everyone it's highly unique and life changing. Thanks Tim .
John, A big Kammak (thankyou) to you my friend. Those words in your review humbled me. I'll be sure to pass your feedback on to Shaun, I recon I'm the luckiest bloke in the country working with the traditional owners in Arnhem Land and soon to be Tiwi as well. We had a great day and would love to catch up with you again one day! Mah Boh boh
What an amazing day with Tim and Shaun on Country in Arnhem Land. Well organised and great communication from the outset. Plenty of stops along the way. As an Aboriginal person, as soon as we got to community I could see the connection and respect between Tim and the Traditional Owners. You can't fake that stuff. Shaun, our Traditional Owner guide, was amazing, sharing stories and information about his Cultural, Country and life. If you want a REAL cultural experience in the NT, this is for you. Big love Tim and Shaun, until next time my brothers, stay strong 👊💪
Kammak Warren, it means a lot to get this feedback and read your review. I'd love to reconnect at sometime in the future. Mah bobo 🙏
Viewing the rock art is amazing but make sure you have solid hiking boots for the rock trails as the descent can be slippery with fine powdery sand on top of uneven rocks. Check you have good tread with ground grip on your soles. Also, have some disinfectant body gel for cuts and abrasions - the tour leader did not have any first aid items because as we know nothing goes untoward in the territory!
Thanks Ian for taking the time to place a review. From memory the shoes you were wearing were fine for the experience. And for your information that blue back pack that I lugged over the hill has two first aid kits in it, one general kit and one snake bite kit, plus a larger more comprehensive kit in the vehicle. I observed you cleaning your small scrape with a cloth provided and assumed you were fine with that, if not an approach at the time might have seen that savlon applied! And yes all is hunky-dory in the NT! Kammak
We had an incredible day!! It was a privilege to listen to Sebastian’s stories of his country and culture while looking at the expansive display of rock art. It was very moving. We really appreciated his generosity and open ness to answering questions. We loved spending time at Injalak Arts Centre too. The tour was well organised and well catered. It was a special day for us.
Kammak Susan, It's nice to recieve your feedback. Safe travels.
This trip to Arnhem Land was the highlight of my 3 weeks in Australia. Tim organized a powerful cultural event that allowed us to see and hear about the aboriginal world with Shaun, a local who made his culture come alive for us. This is one of the best rock art sites in Australia, on a level with Ubirr. With Shaun’s graciousness and wisdom, we moved beyond the art to hear and feel the culture that created it. This is a trip that truly helps you connect with 60,000+ years of human culture in Australia.
Kammak Psomi, Thankyou for taking the time to review us. I will show Shaun he loves getting feedback.
This is the trip of the lifetime! And it is the BEST trip you will ever take during your stay in Darwin. Tim is an incredible travel guide, we had great conversations on the bus, had fun and laughter and most importantly had the most incredible tour from Shaun the Aboriginal Guide. We saw the most amazing Rock Art and I was blown away by Shaun's stories. Arnhem Land is so beautiful, peaceful and harmonious. Tim has alot of integrity and only works with Aboriginal Guides and is highly supportive of their culture, this is the most authentic tour I have ever been on.
Kammak Melissa, We had a great day, thankyou for being part of it.
This adventure is a 'must do' experience in the top end. It is a privilege to be on country and to be able to talk to the traditional owners and walk on this stunning land. Tim and Shaun are a great team and the small group made our time together special.
Kammak and I am so glad you had a great day out.
This was really special day, with great thanks to Tim and our Indigenous guide Shaun, for providing us with so much information, openness to discussion and access to amazing sites. It really was a privilege to be part of this tour not only of rock art but also Arnhem land and its people. We had a great group, including children, who were treated with such care and interest by Shaun. With thanks for looking after us so well, this was a once in a lifetime experience!
Kammak and thankyou for taking the time to leave a review. It was a special day and I was very proud watching Shaun interact with the kids. Kammak and safe travels.
What a fabulous day, it was a privilege to spend time on Injalak Hill with traditional owner. Thanks Tim for your skilled navigation crossing Cahills Crossing, certainly added to the adventure :-)
Kammak Heathertee :) Safe onward travels. Mah boh boh
