We had a great experience and the people that we found on Viator were very helpful and detailed in instructing us through the chaos of the crowds. Once inside the colosseum we were given an amazing guide who was brilliant and insightful! She handled everyone in the group with such care and her enthusiasm was infectious. This woman was sociable, had a great sense of humor and helped shape a truly a fantastic experience for our entire group!
Absolutely terrible, my husband & I got separated from the group & our 12 year old at the start of the tour. the guide didn’t notice until she went up to her & said she didn’t see her parents. Then the guide sent her alone to “go find your parents and meet us back.” When my daughter didn’t see us, she went back to where the group was and they already moved on. She found a worker and had to stay with her until my husband & I could locate her. Which took an hour- it was absolutely terrifying. We had no phone reception. It was extremely busy & we couldn’t hear the guide & the earphones kept cutting out, so apparently she said go past the stairs & make a left, but we heard stairs & left so we went up. Hence the separation. People got between us & our daughter while we were tending to our 7yr old. the guide didn’t have a flag like every other one, so I didn’t see her turn. I asked the tour co to give us vouchers to rebook the tour since we missed the whole thing, but they refused. Aside from that, the tour is shorter than advertised since they include the 30+ min check in process in the tour time & our guide was not enthusiastic or engaging. While I take some responsibility for the situation, it was handled poorly by the guide & I find it very unprofessional & unacceptable that the tour co wouldn’t offer us another tour considering the problems. They absolutely refused any accommodation whatsoever.

Unfortunately this was a terrible experience. The coliseum would not admit our group bc we booked thru a 3rd party. This company obviously already knew this was a possibility bc the tour "coordinator" would not walk us up to the admission gate and obviously didn't want to be seen, then acted surprised when we got turned away. They did reimburse us, unfortunately that put a huge damper on 2 years of planning this trip. Our options were don't go, or wait in long line and buy tickets again but it was not possible to do the underground portion. I don't feel comfortable using Viator nor the local company anymore.

Both our coordinator and our guide were FAVOLOSA!!! They were very informative and patient with those of us that don't know the language so well. Very kind!
My guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was entertaining and fun! It was great to experience and see the Colosseum From the viewpoint of the gladiators!
Our tour was cancelled three days before it was supposed to happen. We got no reason for the cancel. It’s impossible to book tickets that close to visiting. I managed to get a private tour with another company for the day we needed, but that tour was twice the cost, lasted 45 minutes of the promised 75, and did not include the underground part which is what I wanted to see the most. I was super disappointed. We did get a full refund, but were unable to do the ONE thing I wanted to do while visiting Rome.

A little short. Didn't get to see all the exhibits and not enough time for 20 people to see the ones we did

You are better off buying a regular ticket or doing an audio guide tour. Our tour guide was monotone and very boring. It was hard to hear her in a group. The meeting points are inside which you have to find on your own. She never asked if anyone had any questions throughout.
