Das Nationalmuseum für Anthropologie ist ein Nationalmuseum von Mexiko. Es ist das größte und meistbesuchte Museum in Mexiko.

Das Museum ist die Synthese einer ideologischen, wissenschaftlichen und politischen Leistung.
Zu den Sammlungen des Museums gehören unter anderem der Stein der Sonne, riesige Steinköpfe der Olmeken-Zivilisation, die in den Dschungeln von Tabasco und Veracruz gefunden wurden, Schätze, die aus der Maya-Zivilisation geborgen wurden, unter anderem in der Heiligen Cenote von Chichen Itza. Es hat auch ein Modell der Lage und des Grundrisses der ehemaligen aztekischen Hauptstadt Tenochtitlan, deren Gelände heute vom zentralen Bereich des heutigen Mexiko-Stadt eingenommen wird.
Die Dauerausstellungen im Erdgeschoss decken alle präkolumbischen Zivilisationen ab, die sich auf dem heutigen Territorium Mexikos sowie auf ehemaligem mexikanischem Territorium im heutigen Südwesten der Vereinigten Staaten befinden.
Das Museum beherbergt auch Besuchsausstellungen, die sich im Allgemeinen auf andere der großen Kulturen der Welt konzentrieren

Fantastic Private Group Tour
3 adult family members in our private tour with Fernando! He was waiting for us when we arrived, holding a sign with my name. He was very friendly and engaging, and so knowledgeable and passionate about Mexican history. He kept us moving through the exhibits, but didn't rush us, guiding us through the high points of the museum, explaining them very clearly. He gets an 11 out of 10 from us. Afterwards we kept talking about how much we enjoyed this tour. Needless to say, highly recommend!!!

Great Tour!
Poncho was a great guide!! He was very knowledgeable and engaging. It was really helpful to have a guide so that we weren’t overwhelmed by the museum and got the interesting story behind many items.

Great Start to Mexico City Stay
What an amazing museum and a great way to start our time in Mexico City! Our tour guide Leonardo did a fantastic job highlighting the main time periods and events of Mexican history. He was knowledgable, friendly, and made us want to learn more. I only wish we had allowed ourselves more time after the scheduled tour to stay longer and see more of that impressive place. Amazing experience
From the start we were delayed because of a marathon in the area. Jorge was very easy to communicate with, understanding and didn’t begin the tour until we arrived. He was very knowledgeable about the history and culture! I couldn’t imagine exploring the museum without his guidance. Thank you! We will definitely book again

Great informational tour of Aztec civilization

Highly Recommend
Alicia was an incredible tour guide! She made all of the history and lore seem incredibly interesting and we were so locked in and eager to learn more, even after a long day of travel. I highly recommend booking this tour, because otherwise the museum itself is too overwhelming.

The Anthropology Museum makes my list of top museums I’ve been to around the world.
Alicia, our guide, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The museum itself was amazing. From its design, to use of materials, interior colors that highlight the items on display. If you’re from out of town and have limited time, I highly recommend a tour.
