Hier haben wir die Möglichkeit, die besten Windmühlen Hollands zu besichtigen. Im 17. Jahrhundert war die Zaanse Schans das größte Industriegebiet der Welt. Eine holländische Windmühle war im Grunde eine kleine Fabrik. Jede Windmühle wurde speziell für die Herstellung verschiedener Produkte wie Farbe, Speiseöl, Papier und Holz gebaut. Am Ufer des Flusses Zaan mahlten, hämmerten, sägten und zerquetschten Hunderte von Windmühlen. Produkte der Zaanse Schans wurden in die ganze Welt exportiert. Die Dutzend Windmühlen an der Zaanse Schans sind noch voll funktionsfähig. An einem guten windigen Tag werden wir sehen, wie sie sich mit voller Geschwindigkeit drehen. Der Eintritt zu einer der Windmühlen ist in dieser Tour enthalten.
Das Dorf Edam liegt auf einem Deich neben einem großen Süßwassersee. Edam ist berühmt für Käseherstellung. Es ist auch ein guter Ort, um niederländische Meeresfrüchte wie Hering zu probieren.
Auf dieser familiengeführten Käserei erfahren Sie alles, was Sie schon immer über Käse und Holzschuhe wissen wollten. Natürlich gibt es eine große Auswahl an Käsesorten sowie Obstwein und typisch holländische Kekse und Sie können Ihren Lieblingskäse, Holzschuhe und allerlei Souvenirs kaufen.
Monnickendam ist eine der ältesten Städte Hollands und unglaublich schön. Wir fahren durch das alte Zentrum, vorbei an der alten Kirche mit ihrem erstaunlichen Glockenturm und beobachten typische niederländische Schiffe im Hafen. Monnickendam ist ein schöner Ort zum Mittagessen.
Im Zentrum von Waterland liegt das Dorf Broek. Obwohl es nur fünfzehn Autominuten von Amsterdam entfernt ist, fühlt sich Broek in Waterland völlig anders an als die kosmopolitische Stadt. Die meisten alten Häuser, Bauernhöfe und sogar die Kirche waren aus Holz. Steingebäude waren zu schwer für den weichen Boden. Es gibt noch viele schöne große Holzhäuser mit Gärten voller Blumen. Es ist sehr friedlich und ruhig und wir sind so ziemlich der einzige Reiseveranstalter, der dorthin fährt, weil große Busse mit Touristen nicht einmal willkommen sind.
Waterland wird das Feuchtgebiet von Amsterdam genannt, mit alten Dörfern, Feldern und Hunderten von Gräben. Es ist eine Landschaft mit schmalen Wasserwegen, die „Sloten“ genannt werden, Wiesen, Schilf, Kühen, Schafen, Pferden und Vögeln, Bauernhöfen und Kirchtürmen am Horizont. Dieses Gebiet besteht hauptsächlich aus Torfland und ist auch voller Seen. Die Landschaft wird nirgendwo holländischer als diese.

Abholzeit ist 9:00 Uhr. Wenn Sie die Tour zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt beginnen möchten, fragen Sie gerne. Wir holen von jedem Hotel, Airbnb-Adresse oder Standort in Amsterdam im Umkreis von 10 Meilen (10 Kilometer) vom Stadtzentrum ab. Für eine Abholung (und/oder Rückfahrt) vom Flughafen Schiphol Amsterdam oder einem anderen Ort außerhalb des Radius von 6 Meilen berechnen wir €50,- Barzahlung am Tag selbst. Das liegt daran, dass der Flughafen 20 Kilometer (12 Meilen) vom Stadtzentrum entfernt ist, was uns zusätzliche Zeit kostet und wir über 2 Euro pro Liter Benzin zahlen. Bitte beachten Sie: Nach der Buchung ist es nicht möglich, die Anzahl der Passagiere ohne zusätzliche Kosten zu erhöhen!

The tour itself was excellent, our tour guide Phillip was very knowledgeable, especially about the windmills, he even arranged for us to go up into a mill that nobdy else was allowed to go in. He even went out of the way to pick up one of our grou that at the airport that did not come on his original flight. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because he does not seem to like Americans and had a lot of snarky comments about them.

This was a private tour. Just 3 of us and our driver/guide. It was wonderful with a hotel pickup. We learned so much and could make any extra stop we wanted to for photos or more photos. No rush, personal, comfortable, fun, educational and our guide/driver Philippe was so personable and a wealth of knowledge. He made the day extra special and a great experience.

My husband and I had the most amazing experience touring the Holland windmills and surrounding countryside with Teun. Teun is a wealth of knowledge and didn’t hesitate to answer any questions we had. In addition to touring the windmills, we visited several cute small towns outside of Amsterdam and ate lunch at a lovely restaurant near a beautiful marina. We visited a cheese farm where they also demonstrated how wooden clogs are made, but the real treat was touring a small local family dairy farm with baby cows! Thanks Teun for making our tour of Holland one we will always cherish!

This was such a great way to see the historic windmills, the countryside, small towns and visit a cheese factory and clog making demonstration in a private schedule. Totally stress free and our guide Teun was friendly, knowledgeable, good driver and flexible with our time as we were running a bit late. Such a great way to experience some of the most touristic sights without being coralled in a big bus. Very satisfied and would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a private experience.
