Die unabhängigen Boutiquen und gemütlichen Bars am grünen Boxhagener Platz ziehen ein internationales Publikum an. a very interesting tour off the beaten path. Big praise for our guide Louisa, who gave us an unforgettable afternoon with fun, interesting background knowledge, and a good overview.
Herzliche Grüße, Dein Team von Berlin on Bike
Our guide (Andy) was excellent. Knows the areas in-depth, esp., nightlife/clubs and music scene.
Our guide Elisa was knowledgeable and always open to questions. Having spent time in the history centre of Mitte the day prior, it was nice to explore the other parts of the city. She took us to view a lot of street art, displaying Berlin’s long time rebellious vibe that has continued beyond the WW eras. Got a good sense of the city peddling through on bikes. Really enjoyed the last 30 minutes especially, a great bike run back to the site; seeing a stretch of the Berlin Wall while riding amongst locals on a busy street up against the sun. Good workout for the day. Thanks to Elisa and the team.
Hi Russell, thanks a lot for this great feedback! We are happy that our Alternative Berlin Tour was the perfect contrast to your day in Mitte and that you enjoyed exploring the city's rebellious vibe with Elisa. We love that you got a little workout out of the ride back! We will definitely pass your thanks and compliments on to Elisa. Hopefully, we can show you even more of Berlin’s different faces on another ride someday! All the best, your Berlin on Bike team
A fantastic way to discover the lesser-known Berlin. Oleg shared his knowledge and love for Berlin and made the tour very enjoyable. The best part was undoubtedly cycling through the airport that was used to supply food to West Berlin in the post-war period.
Hi, thank you so much for the recommendation! We are really happy you enjoyed discovering the lesser-known sides of the city on our Alternative Berlin Tour. Cruising down the runways at Tempelhof is one of our favourite things to do in Berlin, and we are glad Oleg shared his passion for Berlin's history with you. We will make sure to pass your lovely feedback along to him. Hope to see you again next time you visit Berlin! All the best, your Berlin on Bike team
We did the Berlin Alternative with our family (2 adults and a daughter of 13) with Berlin on Bike, under the guidance of guide Niels and it was a fantastic experience! The tour took us to surprising and lesser-known places in Berlin – the very locations you don’t usually go to so quickly. Niels knew how to tell everything in a fascinating and accessible way, full of fun facts and interesting background information. What we also really liked was the relaxed pace. There was absolutely no rush. Even when we arrived late due to delays in public transport, they were very relaxed. The attention to street art was a great part of the tour, especially for our daughter and perfectly matched her interests. In short: an absolute must for families (and actually for everyone) who want to discover Berlin in a unique, relaxed and inspiring way!
Hi, thanks so much for your wonderful review! We are glad to hear that you and your family had such a fantastic experience on our Alternative Berlin Tour, and that Niels' engaging stories and the street art highlights resonated so well, especially with your daughter. We want our tours to feel relaxed, so we are happy that our team could take the stress out of your public transport delay. We will be sure to pass your compliments on to Niels! We would love to welcome you and your family back for another ride next time you visit Berlin. All the best, your Berlin on Bike team
Outstanding experience with Elisa and Alex. Berlin is an amazing city. This tour allowed us to see the non-touristy inner Berlin from all angles, with just the right amount of history. Highly recommend!
Hi, thanks so much! Seeing the real, non-touristy side of Berlin is exactly what our Alternative Berlin Tour is all about! We're thrilled that Elisa and Alex gave you such an outstanding experience and found that perfect balance of history and local insights. We hope to see you again for another ride! All the best, Your Berlin on Bike team
Great way to spend an afternoon. Very interesting tour. Our guide was brilliant, informative, detailed and made the tour interesting. Would fully recommend it. 10/10.
Hi, thanks so much for the 10/10! Really glad you enjoyed the Alternative Tour with our guide so much. Hope to see you again in Berlin! All the best, Your Berlin on Bike team
This was an interesting tour. However it was spoilt by a few things. - The group was too big at 12 so some missed out on the commentary. 6 would have been much better - and safer. - one poor individual who had paid for the tour was asked to look after the tail of the group meaning she missed some of the commentary. - free water would have helped on a warm sunny day given the cost of the tour. We did visit some interesting places. Covered about 16km overall. It would have been better if at the start the guide gave us a rough idea of where we were going A proper 15-30 min break in the middle at a cafe/bar for the group to meet and chat would also have really helped the group to bond and to get to know the guide.
Hello, thank you for your detailed and constructive review! Feedback like this is genuinely useful. I'll try to answer all points you brought up: Group size: Our tours are capped at 13 - already among the smaller group sizes for bike tours in Berlin, where many operators run with up to 15, or even more. Still, 12 people on a warm day is 12 people, and if some of you missed parts of the commentary, that's something we take seriously. The tail rider: Keeping someone at the back is standard practice for us in Berlin traffic as it keeps the group safe and together. We usually ask for a volunteer for this. You're right though that whoever takes it on shouldn't miss out on the experience. If your fellow guest felt left behind rather than looked after, that's something we'll talk to our guide about directly. Water: We offer water at the start for €1.50, in line with what you'd pay anywhere in Berlin these days. With multiple tours starting at the same time, it sounds like this didn't land clearly. We'll make sure it's more visible going forward. Route overview at the start: Noted, and honestly a quick fix. We'll pass this on. A mid-tour break: This one's genuinely tricky. Many guests tell us they'd rather keep moving and see more. But we've been debating a proper break for a while, and your feedback adds weight to that conversation. On the cost point: Cost of living in Berlin has risen significantly — rents, equipment, everything. We've deliberately kept our prices competitive while actually reducing group sizes. Just to offer some context. We're glad you found the places interesting and covered good ground. We'd love to have you back on a day where more things click into place. All the best from Berlin on Bike
