Was gibt es Schöneres an einem ruhigen, sonnigen Tag als einen Ausflug in den Zoo mit der Familie, Ihrem Partner oder auch auf eigene Faust? Der Zoo ist der einzige seiner Art weltweit. Mit 750 Metern ist er Europas höchstgelegener Zoo, aber auch leicht zu erreichen und nicht weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Es gibt viele verschiedene Tiere, die darauf warten, im Zoo gesehen zu werden, wie Luchse, Adler, Fische und Vögel sowie Wölfe und Bären. Der Frühling ist eine besonders interessante Reisezeit, denn dort werden Jungtiere geboren und es ist meistens viel los! Im Streichelbereich können Sie seltene und einheimische Arten von Kühen, Schweinen, Ziegen und Schafen aus nächster Nähe sehen. Die Fahrt mit der Hungerburgbahn startet am Bahnhofskongress nahe dem Zentrum von Innsbruck und bringt Sie in 5 Minuten zum Bahnhof Alpenzoo, dann nach Ihrem Zoobesuch wieder zurück.

Good zoo except for the bear exhibit. The bear was constantly pacing the same path and seems very distressed.
A beautifully located zoo. Although we got lost, we were even more excited to see the animals!

The zoo is hard to walk. It is very hilly. Most of the animals were not visible or their holding area had construction. There are a lot of birds.
It is much better to get the collective tickets instead of separate tickets. The experience is worthwhile, where the zoo is very unique and spacious, and the Funcular facilitates the trip in a very well-organized manner and low-interval trips schedule.
The Alpenzoo is really very beautiful because you can see the commitment to create the most suitable environments for each animal, here there are no narrow cages: ibex, wolves and birds live in spaces that recall their natural habitat. We also saw the bear, but in this period it was a bit "sleepy" and was sleeping blissfully behind a plant, so we were able to see only part of it! Overall it is a very nice and pleasant experience, recommended for those who want to see mountain animals in a respectful setting
We went to the zoo with rather low expectations as a stopover on the way up the mountain. And we were totally surprised: The terrain is totally beautiful, the individual enclosures of the animals seem overall very generous and close to nature. Highly recommended as an excursion destination for the family!
Fantastic zoo! Amazing to see such a variety of animals, well kept and tidy zoo! Some enclosures on the smaller side for the birds however none looked unhappy! Worth a visit!
I went here early one day. I found a lot of the animals to not be out or visible. It is very strenuous walking with the steep hills. It’s a bit pricey for a smaller zoo. I did leave very tired after about 90 minutes.
