Das Tor zum Himmel in Pura Lempuyang (Pura Luhur Lempuyang Bali) wird auch „Der Tempel der Tausend Schritte“ genannt, und befindet sich auf dem Gipfel des Belibis Hill (Mount Lempuyang), 1.058 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel, nordöstlich des Mount Agung, Abang District, Karangasem Regency Es ist nicht dokumentiert, wann der Tempel Lempuyang genau gebaut wurde. Legenden besagen, dass, als Mutter Erde erst 70 Jahre alt war, die Insel Bali instabil war und täglich Erdbeben stattfanden. Der Gott Pacupati, der auf dem Berg Sumeru wohnt, sah diesen Zustand und bat seine drei Kinder, Bali zu stabilisieren. Er schickte Hyang Gni Jaya, Hyang Putra Jaya und Dewi Danu nach Bali, um an drei verschiedenen Orten zu wohnen: Dewi Danu auf dem Berg Batur, Hyang Putra Jaya auf dem Berg Agung und Hyang Gni Jaya im Lempuyang Luhur Tempel. Man geht davon aus, dass die Gebetsstätten um den Berg Lempuyang vor dem Großteil der Hindutempel auf der Insel Bali errichtet wurden. Wir verbringen hier eine angenehme Zeit für viele Fotos und Sie können den höchsten Berg Balis genießen. Danach fahren wir zum Wasserpalast Tirta Gangga und weiter in ein altes Dorf namens Tenganan Pegringsingan.

Enjoyable day seeing the temples & village, would recommend. Kana did a great job in actually explaining some history (most tours we’ve done have been mostly drivers instead of guides).

The 3 places was very informative. You got to see the traditional Indonesian way, next tourist area, and lastly heaven’s gate.

Our driver Adi was very helpfull during our trip. He came earlier and waited us at lobby and we begun out trip with a nice conversation. We visited Gate of Heaven first to pick up line number for the photo and left to visit other places until it was our time for the photo, est time 3 hours wait line. The water palace is an amazing place also for photos and some history behind it as the driver explained. The village is very good old and well preserved but became more market place for tourists, but still worth the visit. Recommended for all!

We had a really great day out exploring the Eastern Bali area, from the ancient village to the beautiful water gardens and then the temple up on the mountain. Our driver Gunawan was really good and looked after us very well, stopping for us when we need and answering all of our questions about the local culture. It was a long day and if you are travelling from past Canggu area, the traffic is really slow. If you want a photo at top of the temple you need to get there early as you could be waiting for hours, as the queue is very long. Overall I would highly recommend this trip.

We had an amazing anniversary experience in Bali. The tour was flexible, and not rushed which allowed us to feel the Balinese culture. Our guide, Wayan Reddog is very articulate and knowledgable on the places we visited. Can’t wait to see more of Bali.
