Der Treffpunkt. Ein ikonisches Gebäude, das den Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts repräsentiert. Es befindet sich an der Explanada de España, repräsentiert den modernistischen Stil der Stadt und ist ein Gebäude, das eine Ära des Tourismus und der Stadtentwicklung markiert hat. Von hier aus beginnen wir unsere Tour durch die Stadt, um ihre bezauberndsten Ecken zu entdecken.
Das Rathaus ist das Zentrum der Stadt, von wo aus sich die Calle Mayor und das Viertel Santa Cruz erstrecken. Es ist ein Umfeld voller Leben, Geschäfte, Denkmäler und Restaurants, in dem Besucher den Lebensstil, die Stadtlandschaften und unsere besten Produkte genießen können. Das Rathaus wurde im 18. Jahrhundert erbaut und beherbergt den Messpunkt für alle Höhen in Spanien.
Einer der symbolträchtigsten Ausblicke auf die Stadt und die Altstadt. Eine Barockkirche, die die Geschichte der Stadt verkörpert und von der aus wir eine fantastische Aussicht genießen können. Die Kirche war Teil der Stadtmauer und beherbergt eine interessante Sammlung barocker Kunst. Gleich nebenan befindet sich das Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst, von wo aus wir einen einzigartigen Panoramablick auf die Stadt haben.
Die Burg Santa Bárbara war der Ursprung der muslimischen Stadt Alicante. Sie umfasst drei Bauperioden und erzählt die wichtigsten Ereignisse, die die Stadt erlebt hat, von der muslimischen Eroberung bis zum spanischen Bürgerkrieg. Wir gehen durch die Puerta de la Santa Faz, um zum „Matxo“ der Burg (dem oberen Teil) zu gelangen, und genießen dann ein Getränk auf einer der zauberhaftesten Terrassen der Stadt.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the history of the area that he provided was excellent. The castle was amazing!

My wife and I met Javier. We started with a shuttle ride up to Santa Barbara Castle. As the shuttle ride wound its way up the castle Javier began telling us about the history of some of the sights/buildings the shuttle passed. When we made our way to the castle the history of the castle from the early beginnings to the present day continued. Javier was an amazing guide through history of not only the castle but also Alicante as far as the eyes could see. Our tour of the castle finished by walking down to Alicante through the barrio Santa Cru (?) known for it’s narrow pathways with white homes and blue color. Javier showed us discovered ruins in the city, churches, museums, the large nativity scene and so much more which I can’t describe here. It seemed that every time we turned a corner there was another piece of history which we happened upon. And with every turn there was someone who knew Javier. What could be more of a compliment than in a city that with every turn Javier was seemingly known by so many. Javier we can only say thank you for sharing your knowledge of Alicante and Spain with us. Great job!

I would give this tour company a zero if I could. They didn’t show up and left us stranded. We called them 10 times, sent messages and waited for 45 minutes. They ruined our only day in Alicante. Do not book with this company.

Tour guide never showed up and we tried calling 10 different times and no answer. Contacted Viator to hopefully get refunded.
