Die Alhambra auf dem Hügel Sabica ist eine andalusisch-pfälzische Stadt. Sein Name leitet sich von der rötlichen Farbe seiner Wände ab, die vom Lehm des Landes selbst stammen (Al-Hamra auf Arabisch). Es besteht aus einer Gruppe von Palästen, Gärten und Festungen, in denen sich innerhalb der Stadt Granada eine Zitadelle befand. Seine Hauptfunktion bestand darin, dem Monarchen und dem Hof des Nasriden-Königreichs Granada als Unterkunft zu dienen. Es gibt auch christliche Siedlungen wie den Palast Karls V. und die Kirche Santa Maria, die auf der alten Moschee erbaut wurde. Die Alcazaba ist der älteste Teil der Alhambra, aus dem Arabischen: القصبة al-Qaṣbah (Zitadelle) war eine befestigte Umfriedung mit städtischem Charakter, deren Funktion es war, Mohamed I. als königliche Residenz zu dienen, bis die Paläste fertiggestellt wurden, von dort aus ihre Funktion war rein militärisch.
Die Nasridenpaläste sind ein Palastkomplex der Alhambra von Granada, der aus zwei unabhängigen Palästen, dem Palast von Comares und dem Palast der Löwen, und den Nebengebäuden von Mexuar besteht. Der Bau stammt aus dem ersten Drittel des 14. Jahrhunderts. Der Alcázar oder "Qasr al-Sultán" war das Palastgebiet der Alhambra, der Kern des Nasridenreiches. In diesem Bereich residierten die Sultane, die nicht nur eine Audienz erhielten, sondern auch die Regierungsgeschäfte abwickelten oder die Verwaltung des Gerichts leiteten.
Der Palast von Carlos V ist ein Renaissancebau des Architekten Pedro Machuca. Der Palast ist einzigartig in seinem Stil und bildet einen Platz mit einem kreisförmigen Innenhof. Es ist das herausragendste Werk der spanischen Renaissance.
Das Generalife ist eine Villa mit Gärten, die von den muslimischen Königen von Granada als Rückzugs- und Erholungsort genutzt wurden. Es wurde als ländliche Villa konzipiert, in der Ziergärten, Obstgärten und Architektur in der Nähe der Alhambra integriert wurden. Der Name, den wir dem Generalife-Komplex geben, bedeutet wörtlich Yannat al-Arif: "Der Garten des Architekten", eine Anspielung auf die Gärten und Obstgärten, die den Hof der Nasriden mit Obst und Gemüse versorgten. Der Palast, auf den wir zusteuern und der als Ruhestätte für den Monarchen gedacht ist, wurde vom Dichter Ibn al-Jayyab als "das königliche Haus des Glücks" bezeichnet.
In El Partal sind archäologische und architektonische Überreste integriert, die den Räumen der Pfalz entsprechen. Sein Name auf Arabisch bedeutet Portikus und bezieht sich auf die Überreste der Residenz von Sultan Muhammad III, dem nördlichsten und ältesten. In diesen Gärten können Sie die Überreste mehrerer Paläste sehen, da diese Gegend vom muslimischen Adel bewohnt wurde. Das wichtigste war der Palast von Yusuf III. Mit einem Grundriss ähnlich dem Palast von Comares, der im 18. Jahrhundert leider abgerissen wurde. Die Partal Gardens sind ein unglaublicher Ort zum Bummeln oder Stoppen während Ihres Besuchs in der Alhambra in Granada.

We expected more structure, details and interesting facts during this tour. The information was presented in a kind of semi random fashion. No supplemental materials (maps, floor plans, timeline diagrams were used). The guide was pretty unenthusiastic and just led us trhough Generalife, palaces and fortress with ability to take quick selfies. We expected much more especially after our free walking tour of the city that has offered all of the above.

Take a local bus from Granada town to the meeting point. Alhambra is on the top of the hill and the route is really steep. Nasrid palace is absolute gem so book it with the tour. Wear comfortable shoes as the tour lasts 3 hours.

I wish to warn all travelers about this agency. Their website is structured to appear among the top results on search engines, misleading users and effectively posing as the official channel. I purchased tickets for the Alhambra only to discover afterward that the price they charged is four times higher than the actual cost from the official vendor (Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife). Once on site, speaking with the staff at the official ticket office, I confirmed that I am not at all the first to fall into this trap and that the situation is unfortunately well known to everyone locally. I find it scandalous that these platforms are allowed to profit in this way by speculating on tourists' misinformation. If you want to visit the Alhambra, make sure to purchase only and exclusively from the official website of the Patronato to avoid this enormous unjustified extra expense. Stay away from it.

Not for people with walking disability. The organization is poor. Backwards and forwards. People sending you one way and then another. Not very friendly or helpful staff either. Poor signage when we saw any. Sandra, our guide was excellent
