Ein Großteil des Charmes der Algarve liegt in ihrer Fähigkeit, erstklassige touristische Einrichtungen anzubieten und dennoch ihre eigene Identität zu bewahren, die in den traditionellen Dörfern und Aktivitäten der Gegend leicht sichtbar ist. Die Porches Pottery Workshop ist einer der besten Vertreter dieser Kunst und viele der traditionellen Herstellungsmethoden werden hier noch heute angewendet. Sie können sehen, wie die Töpferwaren von den Kunsthandwerkern von Hand hergestellt und bemalt werden. Das Fischerdorf Benagil thront über dem Atlantik und einem winzigen, aber malerischen Strand, das Rauschen des Atlantiks ist die ununterbrochene Tonspur der Aktivitäten des Dorfes. Auf dem Weg zum Ferienort Carvoeiro besuchen wir Algar Seco, wo Sie die erstaunlichen Höhlen und Grotten sehen können, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte aus der Küste geschnitzt wurden. Genießen Sie einen Spaziergang durch das Dorf Ferragudo, entlang der gepflasterten Straßen und hinunter zum kleinen Hafen. Unser letzter Halt ist in einem Weingut, wo Sie an einer Führung teilnehmen und einige der in dieser Region produzierten Weine probieren können.

Sensational! The traditional handmade pottery at Porches Pottery, the exquisite Portuguese wines by Jose Manuel Cabrita, and the dazzling views of beaches and rock formations along the coast made for one incredible day. Ricardo, our tour guide, was simply amazing. He superbly guided us through some of the Algarve region’s most treasured sites. He truly made the day fun and exciting. This was a fun day and a great way for us to experience a little bit more of what the region has to offer.

Michael was our guide and very knowledgeable. Stopped and picked us fresh fennel and pepper plants and pointed out particular birds.

If you want to escape the all-inclusive package holidays at the hotel for a day and see something of the Algarve, this day tour along the coast is well advised. All the guides seemed nice and witty, but we were glad to have caught Miguel! Obrigada, Miguel! 🥲🫶🏼 Miguel showed and explained us a lot of the local flora (everyone has probably seen thyme and rosemary, but also almond and avocado trees?!) and fauna (even flamingos 🦩 😱) and so this day was a really exceptionally great one.

Great trip to some stunning scenery, photo opportunities and if course the winery. Our tour guide Michael was fantastic. Really informative and witty too. His local knowledge was actually the highlight of the trip. The weather wasn't great but this didn't deter us from enjoying the best of the beautiful scenery in the area. The winery was great too and we enjoyed a tasting of white, rosé and red. I recommend this day trip as a way to find out more about the area ocal history and customs of Portugal.

We had Peter as tourgide and this was a very nice experience! He knew a lot about the environment and has a good command of several languages (en/fr). Sufficient freedom at the various stops to look around yourself. Only at the Potery you only saw the women painting from a distance, this was not very special (on the site is called workshop) but in short it was definitely a successful day!
