Das Al Jahili Fort ist ein kultureller Mittelpunkt der Aktivitäten, die mit der Philosophie und dem Erbe von Abu Dhabi in der Gartenstadt verbunden sind. Al Jahili ist eines der größten Forts in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten und wurde in den 1890er Jahren auf Befehl von Zayed dem Ersten als Wohnort für Mitglieder der regierenden Familie Al Nahyan erbaut.
Qasr al-Ain oder "Al Ain Palace", ist eine der am besten wiederhergestellten Festungen im Emirat Abu Dhabi. Das Museum zeigt den Alltag in der Festung eines Herrschers, als der verstorbene Scheich Zayed und seine Familie vor 1966 im Palast residierten. Die Architektur im beduinischen Stil stammt aus dem Jahr 1937 und wurde 1998 als kulturelle und touristische Hauptattraktion in ein Museum umgewandelt.
Die historische Oase erstreckt sich über 3.000 Hektar und bietet einen einzigartigen Einblick in die Bewohner der Region, die vor 4.000 Jahren damit begonnen haben, die Wüste zu zähmen. Die Al-Ain-Oase ist seit 2011 ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, aber erst jetzt mit dem Bau eines pädagogischen Öko-Zentrums und eines ausgedehnten Systems von schattigen Wegen, die sich durch rund 147.000 Datteln schlängeln. Das Gelände beherbergt bis zu 100 verschiedene Vegetationsarten, die die eindrucksvolle Oase umgeben, mit weit verbreiteten Plantagen, auf denen auch Bauernhöfe betrieben werden.
Al Ains berühmter Kamelmarkt ist ein wunderbares Eintauchen in die traditionelle arabische Kultur. Von jungen arabischen Kamelen, die zu Rennfahrern heranwachsen könnten, bis zu beeindruckenden erwachsenen Kamelen, die sich ideal für die Zucht eignen, ist der Markt ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, um das Tier näher kennenzulernen, das einen besonderen Platz im Erbe der Emiraten einnimmt.
Fotostopp: Mit einer Höhe von 1.240 Metern ist Jebel Hafit der höchste Berg des Emirats und der zweite in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten. Diese gewaltige felsige Höhe, die über Al Ain wacht und an Oman grenzt, ist aus zerklüftetem Kalkstein geschmiedet, der über Millionen von Jahren verwittert wurde. In der Gegend wurden bedeutende Fossilienfunde gemacht, die ein wesentliches Element der Geschichte der Stadt sind.
Diese grüne Fläche am Fuße des Jebel Hafeet ist ein weiteres Spektakel, das die reichen Naturreservate von Al Ain zeigt. Das Green Mubazzarah, ein beliebter Hotspot für Picknicks und Familienausflüge, ist vollgepackt mit Familien, die die Sonne genießen möchten, Abenteurern, die den Berg hinaufwandern, und Campern, die die Nacht in Zelten an der Basis verbringen können.

we did a one-day tour as a couple to Al Ain. The company was very serious, there were only us but the tour was still guaranteed with a minibus. At our complete disposal the driver-guide (Jakir) who was precise in taking us to all the places planned by the tour managing the timing and movements. kind and thoughtful. We visited the planned sites. absolutely beautiful and unmissable to get to know this exceptional land and population. Tradition, respect and kindness are everywhere, Al Ain is full of history and culture, everything is orderly and well kept. fascinating customs and the spirit of determination and dignity that has allowed this land to transform in an enviable way. Lunch planned in a luxurious hotel with refined dishes. Absolutely a tour not to be missed. Only one visit missed because the site was under renovation. Maybe it could have been replaced with another stage, but this allowed us to stay longer in the other stages.

Absolutely worth doing if you've got a little more time in Dubai (UAE). An escape from the city & how it came to be! If you love history & want to experience the historical side of the UAE & what life was like pre oil, then this is a must do! You get to see & experience the old fort & royal palace + enjoy a great all you can eat buffet. There's also the mountain range at the end with a spectacular view. The camel site is not for the faint hearted though... It's a great cultural experience, but also a sad one (even as a meat eater). Our tour guide was Rilwan Mohama'd. He was very kind & informative. He told us lots about each site we visited. He also did a pit stop on the drive back to Dubai for a quick drink & loo break. My only slight niggle, is the lunch is a bit later in the tour, so definitely bring a water bottle & little snack (crisps or something to nibble in the car). We left our bags in the car at each side we visited.

We have chosen Full Day Al Ain Tour with lunch to discover the UNESCO oasis. Our tour guide Razwan was very kind. We visited AL Jahili Fort, Al Ain Palace Museum, Al Ain Oasis, Camel Market, Jabal Hafeet panoramic viewpoint (unfortunately during the tour you don’t visit the summit) and Mubazarah Hot Springs. Some stops could be longer but overall I recommend the tour. Futhermore, the very delicious lunch was included.
