Wie in jeder guten Geschichte beginnt alles mit einer Einführung. Es ist nicht einfach, die Geschichte einer der historisch reichsten Städte der Welt zu erzählen. Dennoch wollen wir unseren Gästen eine breitere Perspektive geben. Deshalb bieten wir zu Beginn der Tour eine prägnante Lektion über die Erschaffung der menschlichen Zivilisation an und stellen dann die antike griechische Zivilisation – und insbesondere Athen – in diesen Rahmen, damit die Menschen ihre Bedeutung und ihren Beitrag wirklich verstehen können.
Das erste Monument, das wir auf unserem Weg zur Akropolis sehen werden, ist das Theater von Dionysos – das erste Theater in der Geschichte der Menschheit. Hier wurden Theater und Schauspiel als Praxis geboren und die frühesten Stücke – Tragödien und Komödien – vor dem athenischen Publikum aufgeführt. Diese Stücke wurden von einigen der berühmtesten Schriftsteller aller Zeiten geschrieben, darunter Sophokles, Euripides und Aeschylus.
Unser nächster Halt wird das Odeon des Herodes Atticus sein, das vom Wohltäter und berühmten Philosophen der Stadt des 2. Jahrhunderts n. Chr. in Erinnerung an seine verstorbene Frau erbaut wurde.
Am Haupteingang des Akropolis-Heiligtums angekommen, sehen wir den Tempel der Athena Nike, der der Göttin des Sieges geweiht ist.
Als nächstes bewundern wir den Blick auf die historisch bedeutenden umliegenden Hügel und gehen die Haupttreppe hinauf, die zum Inneren des Heiligtums führt, während wir das monumentale Tor der Akropolis betrachten.
Unser vorletzter Halt wird das Erechtheion sein, der Tempel der Mythen und Legenden, der sich im Zentrum des Akropolisheiligtums befindet und für seine einzigartigen Skulpturen berühmt ist.
Am Ende werden wir endlich 'das Juwel in der Krone' bewundern – den Parthenon. Als Geschenk an die Schutzgöttin Athens ist es das Meisterwerk der antiken griechischen Architektur der Klassik und die größte technische Leistung des demokratischen Staates – das Symbol der westlichen Zivilisation.
Nachdem wir die Akropolis analysiert haben, machen wir eine kurze Pause für Bilder für 20 Minuten. Danach verlassen wir die archäologische Stätte der Akropolis und besuchen den Hügel Areopago, wo wir den Epilog der Tour mit Blick auf die antike athenische Agora haben werden.

From beginning to end the tour was absolutely fascinating! Our guide, Haralampos (Harris), was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing everything about Greek history. He was also funny, patient, and made the entire group feel welcome. As a travel advisor, I would highly recommend this tour for a rich cultural experience. Fantastic job!
Harris/Haralampos was the most knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate tour guide I’ve ever had. He was so kind and enthusiastic about everything he spoke of, and left no stone unturned when explaining about the history of the Acropolis and the the various civilizations that influenced the architecture, history and culture in Athens and beyond. You can tell Harris is not only extremely wise but truly loves what he does. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a guide. 10/10 would go back.
If you want the history of the Acropolis with a very passionate tour guide, this is the tour for you. He should be a History professor. If you want just a quick and easy tour this is not the tour for you. Be ready to learn a lot.
Our visit to the Acropolis was one of the highlights of our trip, and Harris made the experience exceptional. His knowledge of Greek history and mythology was outstanding, and he shared it in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way. Harris was friendly, enthusiastic, and happy to answer all of our questions. You can tell he is so passionate about the history which we loved. If you learn best by walking the same grounds as remarkable figures during significant moments in history and want to understand the social, political and religious influences of that time, this tour fulfilled it. Harris was thorough and engaging and found ways to link us all to the past. He had impactful words of empowerment as well. He kindly and patiently took photos of groups at highlight areas and gives a generous amount of time. Our tour was over 3 hours. So let him know ahead of time if you need to leave at a certain time. We were grateful for this unique experience!

This is a very detailed and informative tour, our guide Haralanpos was very knowledgeable about history and we had lots of philosophical discussions on the way around. It is quite a long tour which may not suit everyone but great fir history buffs
