Vor Sonnenaufgang steht der Bus vor der Tür, es ist ein früher Start, aber es lohnt sich. Die Fahrt nach Süden dauert 1,5 Stunden und wenn Sie den Cape Hillsborough Nationalpark erreichen, geht gerade das Licht über dem Korallenmeer auf und die Kängurus ziehen bereits hinunter zum Strand. Diese Tiere sind völlig wild. Keine Zäune, keine Fütterungsshows, keine Handler. Sie nähern sich auf eigene Faust – bis auf einen halben Meter –, während sie im Morgengrauen am Sand entlang suchen. Ihr akkreditierter EcoGuide steht Ihnen jederzeit zur Seite und erzählt Ihnen, was Sie sich ansehen und warum Cape Hillsborough einer der wenigen Orte in Australien ist, an denen dies jeden Morgen auf natürliche Weise geschieht. Nach Sonnenaufgang kocht die Gruppe gemeinsam das Drovers-Frühstück : Speck- und Eier-Dämpferrollen, heißer Französischer Presskaffee und authentischer australischer Vegemite, um zu probieren, wenn Sie sich trauen, während Sie den Küstenregenwald überblicken. 3:00 Uhr Abfahrt von Ihrer Unterkunft. Der Fahrer hat ein Schild und trägt ein grünes Hemd. Fahrzeit ca. 1 Stunde 30 Minuten südlich entlang der Küste entlang den Kollektionen des Hotels.
Betreten Sie den Nationalpark vor Sonnenaufgang, bevor Sie sich auf den Weg zum Strand machen.
Wilde östliche Graukängurus und Wallabys tauchen bei Sonnenaufgang aus dem Busch auf den Strand auf. Völlig wild und frei umherstreifend. Die Tiere nähern sich frei – oft bis auf einen halben Meter. Bitte beachten Sie : Blitzfotografie, Fütterung, Berührung, Lärm, Lautsprecher oder Taschenlampen sind nicht gestattet. Die zertifizierten Guides informieren Sie vor dem Betreten des Strandes.
Nachdem die Sonne gut und wahrhaftig am Himmel steht und die Kängurus abgereist sind, kocht die Gruppe gemeinsam das Drovers Breakfast mit Blick auf das Wasser. Speck und Eier Dämpferrollen, Französisch Presskaffee, Vegemite auf die australische Art zu versuchen, wenn Sie mutig sind.
Wir kehren nach Airlie Beach zurück, wo Sie um ca. 9:30 Uhr in Ihrer Unterkunft abgesetzt werden und den Rest des Tages erkunden können.

- Cape Hillsborough liegt 1,5 Stunden südlich von Airlie Beach. Der frühe Morgen ist deutlich kälter als Airlie Beach, auch im Sommer. Eine leichte Jacke ist unerlässlich. Schichten tragen.
- Was mitzubringen ist: leichte Jacke (unverzichtbar), bequeme Kleidung zum Wandern, Wanderschuhe, Wasser, Kamera.
- Känguru- und Wallabysichtungen sind sehr wahrscheinlich, können aber nicht garantiert werden. Tiere sind völlig wild. Wildtierverhalten variiert.
- Keine Blitzfotografie, keine fütternden Tiere, keine berührenden Tiere, kein Lärm, keine Lautsprecher, keine Taschenlampen oder Fackeln, kein Insektenschutzmittel.
- Kein Rauchen, kein Alkohol, keine Drogen, kein Rausch, keine unbegleiteten Minderjährigen.
- Nicht rollstuhlgerecht. Kinderwagen zugänglich. Nahe öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Säuglinge auf Schoß während des Transports. Die meisten Reisenden können teilnehmen. Maximal 20 Gäste pro Abfahrt.

What a wonderful sunrise amongst the wallabies ! A real wonder of the world . D’Artagnan and Cara were amazing and organised the trip perfectly! It is definitely worth waking up early to observe the wallabies in their natural environment on the beach! Amazing time with amazing team and amazing wallabies ! Wow ! What an experience . So worth the very early alarm call . It’s was amazing to see the kangaroos and wallabies on the beach at sunrise. There is a warden on the beach who lays out treats for the kangaroos . You can get quite close . Once the sun rises you also can see the beauty of the Park and beach area . When we arrived there was not many people , a little later on quite a few more people arrived . We were collected from our hotel at 2.24am, it’s was approx 2 hrs to get there , on the way back we stopped in an ‘ ‘American Diner ‘ for bacon and egg burgers , they were gorgeous. Back at our hotel just after 9am Our driver was Cara , she was lovely and chatty and was giving us information about the area . It was a small group of 6 , just right .

Thanks to our guide, D, for a great experience! We saw kangaroos and wallabies close up. D is extremely knowledgeable and I learned many new things about these animals. We also stopped at a beautiful waterfall on the way back where you could take a dip. Park fee and a hot breakfast were included in the price so you don't have to think too much before getting on the bus in the wee hours of the morning.

We had a wonderful trip with D. He is super nice, gives any info and makes the trip very entertaining and fun :) The breakfast was delicious and was totally lovingly prepared. The highlight was of course the kangaroos on the beach! Insanely impressive and you have over an hour there. Since we still had a bit of time, he also drove us to a waterfall. Thanks for everything!
