Reiseverlauf

I had the opportunity to take a four-hour guided tour of Addis Ababa. I enjoyed the visit to Shiro Meda textil market and the national dish that I tasted at a local bar. I was able to eat, usine the local way (with my fingers washed). However, I was disappointed that the guide assigned by the agency wasn't calm, nor very courteous, nor engaging enough about the history of Addis Ababa at National Museum. Ethio Travel & Tours offers several tour options at negotiable prices and I believe it's well-known in Addis Ababa, so it was probably just a matter of the guide. Furthermore, the cars that transported me were not always well-maintained, except for the very first one.
During my stay in Ethiopia, I had an unforgettable tour experience with Biruk and Senatywo. They took me to the National Museum of Ethiopia, where they provided insightful explanations about the exhibits — including the famous Lucy. It was a great opportunity to learn about the country’s rich history and culture. They also accompanied me to the Mercato, one of the largest markets in Africa, where I was able to shop safely and enjoy a truly local experience. Afterwards, we had a delicious meal at Addis Abeba Restaurant, where I got to try authentic injera and traditional Ethiopian dishes. To top it off, we visited the original Tomoca Coffee shop, where I enjoyed an exceptional cup of Ethiopian coffee in a wonderful atmosphere. What made the experience truly special was the incredible hospitality of Biruk and Senatywo. They were warm, knowledgeable, and made me feel welcome every step of the way. I wholeheartedly recommend their tour to anyone visiting Ethiopia!
Had an insight of the Ethiopian culture and history, thanks to Brooks, who explained each historical events perfectly. He possesses very good knowledge of Ethiopian.
Our tour guide, Eyob, was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable, fun and answered all our questions.
It’s my first time in Ethiopia and I could say that this tour made it memorable! My tour guide Haben is so knowledgable and patient in explaining historical and culutural facts. He would really explain answers to my curiosity the best way he could. If you are into cultural immersion, make sure to book this trip! They even made me taste cultural food as well. Ethiopia is beautiful! If you have limited time and want to explore churches, nature and museum, this could be for you! Thank you so much Haben! I will have my family from the Philippines book this tour again!
It was a wonderful journey, full of joy, the whole team professional, unforgettable journey. The city tour we had was amazing . We hadn’t to the biggest market in Africa called Mercato very nice and been Tomoca coffee excellent coffee and to mount Entoto. Ten people from all over the world, led by the ETT team of professionals, the three-day, two-stage volcano tour was excellent, and the staff took good care of the visitors. Although the journey was a little arduous, the magical journey scenery was unforgettable!
Love this tour, thanks to the man, Haben. He is friendly and easy to talk to. He goes above and beyond.Flexible with the itinerary, and helped me with personal errand at the end (need to find supermarket, but I'm not familiar with the area). He answered my too-many questions until I fully understand (i.e.Georgian vs Orthodox calendar). He understand that I like to have more local experience , and helped me negotiate price for local dress (for photo purpose) and took me to popular burger joint. I'm also happy that he and Ephrem (the driver) helped me eat! LOL. Overall, after having meal together and chat about culture and life, it feels like hang out with local friend (not with tour guide)!! Highly recommended. Thank you for the warm welcome, Haben.
The Park and the view were very good. The worste is that the driver and guide appeared 44 minutes late! It was impossible to visit the museum ... because it was closed. And the night came quickly. This means that a visit of half day began at 16:44 and finish at 18:20. Very bad for só much money!
That’s a nice tour with guide by Mr. Getaneh and driver Mr. Tariku! They had a big support to me to get the next tour information for tomorrow even no relation with us.. Many thanks!
From the moment I arrived, Ethio Travel and Tours took care of everything. Their professional guides were knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share their love for their city. They expertly navigated me through bustling markets(Merkato), ancient churches(Holy Trinity Cathedral Church), and stunning viewpoints(Entoto park), ensuring I saw the best Addis Ababa had to offer.
