Great experience with Abudhabi Desert Journey - awesome dune bashing, sand boarding, and the best part was the live entertainment. Tajjamul Hussain is the best guide and a great photographer. It was an exceeding our expectations.

I can’t believe this tour is rated as highly as it is. Our guide was a poor communicator and made us uncomfortable throughout much of the experience. For the first 30 minutes of the drive, our guide was essentially silent. After we asked a few times, he finally started explaining the itinerary, but he was vague, and we still weren’t clear on exactly where we were going or what to expect. We stopped at a gas station where he told us to purchase water for the trip, even though water was listed as included… and it ultimately was. Between activities, there was very little communication about where we were going or what was happening next. The only information he communicated consistently was warnings about the people at the compound, repeatedly telling us that anything they offered would be an extra cost. The overall evening felt chaotic and poorly organized. We were also concerned about the treatment of the camels. They did not appear to be well cared for, and we regretted participating due to concerns about potential animal abuse. The dune bashing itself was fun, and the staff at the activities were friendly and did a great job taking photos for us. However, our group felt uncomfortable for much of the evening. There was also a woman traveling solo with us who did everything possible to avoid being the last person dropped off and alone in the vehicle with our guide. We made sure she was safely dropped off. After the show, but before taking us back, the guide gave us a QR code for Wi-Fi and asked us to leave a review. He then hovered over each person while they were doing it, which made most of us feel pressured to leave a positive review. That left a particularly bad impression. If you’re looking for a budget experience primarily to get some cool photos, this tour may do the trick. However, in retrospect, we wish we had paid more for a better-organized experience with a more professional guide.
