Tour guide was well versed in the history and do a wonderful job answering questions beyond the usual script of the tour itself. Quick tour, but you see it all!
Fun and educational. Really enjoyed our guide.
Our family of four, including two teenagers, thoroughly enjoyed this 90 minute walking tour of Split Old Town. It was a small group with only seven people, which made the experience feel much more personal. Our guide, Slavko, was outstanding - passionate, energetic and incredibly knowledgeable. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he kept all of us, including our teenagers, engaged from start to finish. The 90 minute duration was just right. We explored the fascinating streets and public areas within Diocletian's Palace while learning about Emperor Diocletian, the palace's colourful past and how it has evolved into the vibrant heart of modern Split. If you're looking for an engaging introduction to Split and its remarkable heritage, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour. Thank you, Slavko, for making it such a memorable experience! At the end of the tour he offered suggestions on places to eat and/or grab coffee.
Our guide had good voice projection with the crowds of tourist in the area. She made it very interesting and I feel you need a tour to have any appreciation of the palace.
Overall mixed. Guide spent 15 minutes up front providing personal opinions on the political and economic state of Croatia since adopting the Euro and issues since WWII that aren’t exactly factual, or relevant for the tour. We also stood in the same spot by the Golden Gate for the first 30 minutes, and moved a few meters away to stand for another 20 minutes to listen. When we finally moved inside he was knowledgeable and I learned some good history. And through no fault of his, the collocation of so many tour guides/groups in such a small space made it difficult to concentrate. Read about the palace on Claude while touring. Hence, only three stars. Fortunately it was an inexpensive tour.
Walling tour, some steps. Knowledgeable guide w engaging demeanor. Provided extensive history and cultural context to this amazing archeological gem.
A perfect little activity to boost your understanding of the city's history. Nice and knowledgeable guide.
History based with added culture insights. Ante found all the shady spots which gave a layer of comfort on a hot day.
We recently took a 90-minute walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace and had an excellent experience. Our guide, Ante, was extremely informative, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history of Split and the palace itself. The tour was very interesting from start to finish, and we learned far more than we would have exploring on our own. It was absolutely worth the cost and a great way to experience the history and culture of the area. Highly recommended!
This was one of the best walking tours we have done. Ante was a great guide and offered a lot of historic information as he said he is a history nerd. If you want to learn about split and get off the beaten path this is the tour I would recommend
