Der Hauptbahnhof der Stadt Rotterdam empfängt täglich durchschnittlich 170 000 Fahrgäste. Eines der architektonischen Highlights der größten Stadt.
Das Gebäude aus dem 17. Jahrhundert war der ehemalige Hauptsitz von Waterschap Schieland, der für Wasserpolitik und -management in diesem Teil Südhollands zuständigen Institution, einst vorübergehende Unterkunft von Napoleon Bonaparte
Gebäude im spätgotischen Stil von 1525 und gleichzeitig das älteste Gebäude der Stadt Rotterdam. Eines der wenigen seltenen Gebäude überlebte den Bombenangriff der Nazis am 15. Mai 1940.
Denkmal zu Ehren von Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus alias Erasmus von Rotterdam, einer der größten Philosophen, Theologen, Gelehrten, Priester aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Viele öffentliche Gebäude, Bauwerke und Bildungseinrichtungen sind nach diesem berühmten Rotterdamer benannt.

Einer der ältesten (aber nicht der älteste!) Häfen des mittelalterlichen Rotterdam, ehemalige Flussmündung der Rotte in die Neue Maas. Heutzutage beliebter Treffpunkt der Rotterdamer mit vielen Cafés, Restaurants, Tavernen, Diskotheken...
Das einst höchste Gebäude und der erste Wolkenkratzer Europas danach wurde 1898 errichtet. Ähnlich wie viele Gebäude in Amsterdam steht auch dieses Gebäude auf 1000 Holzpfeilern.
Auch "Die Rote Brücke" genannt, die Willem III gewidmet ist, ist eine der drei Rotterdamer Brücken, die den zentralen und nördlichen Teil der Stadt mit den südlichen Bezirken verbindet.
Die riesige Stahlkonstruktion, die "The Lift" bedeutet, diente einst als "rotierende" und "anhebende" Eisenbahnbrücke über die Neue Maas. Die Brücke war in Betrieb, bevor der Eisenbahntunnel unter dem Fluss durchgetrieben wurde
Das Kriegerdenkmal am rechten Ufer der Neuen Maas. Es erinnert an die 3500 Menschen an Bord niederländischer Handelsschiffe, die im Zweiten Weltkrieg ihr Leben verloren.
Leuvehaven - ist ein maritimes Freilichtmuseum. Die große Sammlung von Dampfschiffen, Docking-Frachtmaschinen und -ausrüstung, Schiffsmotoren und anderen Objekten, die mit der Marine und der Schifffahrt in Verbindung stehen oder von der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts bis in die 70er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts in Verbindung stehen.
Diese Hängebrücke ist die jüngste Brücke in Rotterdam, die die Neue Maas überquert ... und mit Sicherheit die beliebteste und bekannteste Brücke. Eines der größten Symbole und Bilder dieser Stadt, auch "Der Schwan" oder "Die Harfe" genannt, 139 m hoch mit dem größten und schwersten "Öffnungsteil" der Brücke in Europa, 80 m lang.
Malerisches Areal mit 19 einzigartigen und authentischen Polderwindmühlen aus der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts, 25 km von Rotterdam entfernt. Das beste Beispiel für effizientes und gut organisiertes niederländisches Wassermanagement im Laufe der Jahrhunderte

Had a great time doing the walking tour of Rotterdam with Alex! We really enjoyed Kinderdijk and seeing the different windmills via boat. One of the best moments was having lunch with Alex and talking about each other’s countries and experiences. We recommend Alex as a tour guide!

Alex is the best guide we’ve ever had & we’ve had many. He kept us informed before we met in Rotterdam. He is so knowledgeable and obviously proud of his city. It seemed every local knew him!! He took us to Kinderdijk and gave us a tour of Rotterdam, and even included the delicious patatje oorlog (loaded French fries)! Do not hesitate to book with Alex! You will not be disappointed!!

We really enjoyed this tour. Alex did a great job of pointing out all of the sites. He was very knowledgeable about Rotterdam, Kinderdijk and the history of these locations. Both places are very walkable (this tour would not be a good option if you have mobility concerns). We would highly recommend this tour!!

My husband and I spent the day with Alex touring Kinderdijk and Rotterdam. We met Alex at the Brussels train station. He recommended going to see the windmills of Kinderdijk first which was great. Alex spoke a lot about the history of Rotterdam and the windmills during our boat ride to Kinderdijk. He is very knowledgeable and enjoyed all of his discussions. He was very attentive to us and we moved at an easy pace. We really enjoyed the Kinderdijk area and moved on to Rotterdam. We enjoyed local beer and frites just as the locals. It was a full day and Alex kept us interested and we were very happy to spend the day with him! I would highly recommend Alex and his tour!

Just do it! My family and I (my husband and 3 kids) , we spent great ( fortunately sunny !!!) day with Alex two days ago. We are in modern architecture (Rotterdam is right place or it) and we came from Brussels by train ( very good and nice train connection). Kids were marveled by windmills and animals they saw in this area.. :) I have no other words, simply, Alex was great! Big knowledge about history of Netherlands (and Lowlands at all) in particular Rotterdam, he provided us plenty of information about meaning of polders, windmills, water management in Netherlands.. We were invited to taste local snack " potatoes war" ... :) We got even much more information about Belgium ( and we regret because we didn't contact and hire this guy even earlier (he organize tours in Belgium and Luxembourg as well). Transportation by water taxi from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk and back was also insured ( included in tour price) by this guy so we had less concerns about it. What an incredible day my husband and I had with our guide Aleks. He was so full of information and we could see the joy he had in sharing it with us and showing us his city. We took a boat ride to see the windmills in Kinderjik and spent the rest of the day touring Rotterdam. We stopped for lunch and took time to get to know each other. I highly recommend his tour.
