Die Quelle wurde zu Ehren von Lawrences eindrucksvoller Beschreibung in den Sieben Säulen der Weisheit benannt: „Vor uns führte ein Pfad, blass vom Gebrauch, im Zickzack den Klippensockel hinauf … Zwischen [den] Bäumen, in verborgenen Ritzen des Felsens , stieß seltsame Schreie aus; die in Musik verwandelten Echos der Stimmen der Araber, die Kamele an den Quellen tränkten, die dreihundert Fuß über dem Boden flossen. Obwohl der Pool selbst weitgehend unscheinbar ist, da es sich um eine stehende Pfütze handelt, ist die Aussicht über die Wüste wirklich spektakulär
Unter den weiten Flächen aus rostfarbenem Sand in der Wüste Wadi Rum ist die Rote Sanddüne oder „Al Hasany“ auf Arabisch eine der berühmtesten. Offiziell Al Ramal genannt, ist es durch seinen beschreibenden Namen bekannter geworden. Es hebt sich von einer Klippe ab, als wäre es Teil des Berges. Diese durch das Vorhandensein von Eisenoxid rot gefärbte Düne ist fein und weich unter den Füßen, was es perfekt macht, barfuß hinaufzugehen
Der Khazali Canyon im Wadi Rum ist die Stätte von Petroglyphen, die in die Höhlenwände geätzt sind und Menschen und Antilopen aus der Zeit der Thamuden darstellen. Diese enge Schlucht enthält zahlreiche nabatäische Felszeichnungen von Menschen und Tieren. Jebel Khazali, ein Gipfel im Zentrum des Schutzgebiets Wadi Rum, öffnet sich in einer schmalen Spalte von etwa 100 m Länge. Seine Innenwände sind mit thamudischen, nabatäischen und islamischen Inschriften sowie Petroglyphen bedeckt, die Menschen und Tiere darstellen. Bemerkenswert sind die Fußsohlen-Petroglyphen, die wahrscheinlich religiöse Bedeutung hatten. 1932 bemerkte der französische Epigraph Savignac die Gravuren in der Spalte und veröffentlichte einige davon 1934. Die Petroglyphen und Inschriften von Khazali Siq bilden eine beeindruckende Sammlung und sind eine der wichtigsten Touristenattraktionen in Wadi Rum. Wilde Feigenbäume und Wüstenbüsche zwischen riesigen Felsen und rotem und gelbem Sand machen diesen Canyon einzigartig. Der Abu Khashaba Canyon ist einer der Canyons, die einen Besuch wert sind, und Sie werden ungefähr eine Stunde brauchen, um ihn zu durchqueren.

We had an amazing 5-hour jeep tour in Wadi Rum with Mohammed, and it was truly unforgettable. Mohammed is an excellent guide — very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the desert. He made us feel welcome from the first moment and shared so many interesting stories about Wadi Rum, Bedouin life, and the history of the area. The beauty of the desert is beyond words. The landscapes, the colors, the silence, and the vast open space are absolutely breathtaking. Every stop felt like a postcard, and Mohammed knew the best spots for photos and peaceful moments. My only regret is that I didn’t spend more time in Wadi Rum. Five hours was not enough to fully enjoy this magical place. If I ever come back to Jordan, I will definitely stay longer and choose Mohammed again as my guide. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Wadi Rum — it was a highlight of our trip.
Awesome tour that I was the highlight of our trip to Jordan! This tour went to so many sites and as we neared the end, we were virtually alone at each site. The guide Mohammed had so many interesting fun facts and answers to any questions that we had about the area whether geography or history and also shared his own personal insights on things making the tour so much better. If you are considering booking a tour in Wadi Rum, this is definitely the one you should book!
This is a fantastic company for a tour in wadi rum! A local tour by the local people to understand local culture, history and religion. Mohammed was an incredible tour guide. Organised everything from where to meet him, what we'll be seeing and what time we'll be back. He took us to spots that fit our schedule. Got some great photos and all around. A wonderful experience! We saw lots of great places and did cool activities in the desert. I was 4 months pregnant and Mohammad gave very good advice on which offer to take, he drove very carefully and took great care of us. And also the night in the tent was awesome, the tents are cozy and the dinner was really tasty fresh und authentic. Highly recommended!

We did a two-hour tour with Mohammad, which was a great way to see a few highlights of Wadi Rum without a huge time commitment.
