Die Tour beginnt auf dem Vracar-Plateau, wo Sie eine der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Belgrad sehen können - den Saint-Sava-Tempel, die zweitgrößte orthodoxe Kirche in ganz Europa mit einer beeindruckenden Krypta und einer mit Mosaiken gefüllten Kuppel. Unser Guide erzählt Ihnen die Geschichte der ersten serbischen Königsfamilie und des ersten serbischen Erzbischofs namens Rastko Nemanjic. Auf demselben Plateau sehen Sie auch die Statue von Nikola Tesla, einem der größten Wissenschaftler aller Zeiten, und das Gebäude der Nationalbibliothek, die während des Zweiten Weltkriegs errichtet wurde.
Die Tour führt weiter zum Slavija-Platz, der nach einem der ältesten Hotels in Belgrad benannt wurde, das 1888 erbaut wurde. Dies ist einer der größten Plätze in Belgrad, wo sich 7 Straßen kreuzen. Nach dem Slavija-Platz fahren wir zur König-Mailand-Straße und einem kleineren, aber charmanten Platz namens Blumenplatz mit zwei wichtigen Kulturgebäuden für Serbier. Das erste ist das Jugoslawische Dramatheater, das 2003 neu aufgebaut wurde, und das zweite ist das Students Cultural Center, in dem die erste Rock'n'Roll-Performance in Belgrad stattfand.
Die Straße Resavska führt uns zur St.-Markus-Kirche, die sich im zweitgrößten Park von Belgrad befindet, dem Tasmajdan-Park. In Richtung des Stadtzentrums passieren wir einige bedeutende Regierungsgebäude wie das serbische Nationalparlament, den Alten und den Neuen Palast.
Auf dem Weg zum Hauptplatz der Republik passieren wir zwei weitere kleinere Plätze, den Nikola-Pasic-Platz und den Terazije-Platz mit dem schönsten Hotel Belgrads, dem Hotel „Moskau“.
Auf dem Platz der Republik, der als der wichtigste Treffpunkt der Stadt gilt, sehen Sie das Nationaltheater, das Nationalmuseum und das Denkmal, das einem der größten serbischen Fürsten, Fürst Mihail Obrenovic, gewidmet ist.
Anschließend bummeln wir durch die Knez Mihailova Straße, die Haupt- und Einkaufszone. Diese belebte Straße führt uns zur Festung Kalemegdan / Belgrad.
Die letzte Station ist die Festung Kalemegdan, die dominierende Attraktion in Belgrad. Es gilt als Freilichtmuseum zwischen dem 1. und 18. Jahrhundert und wurde mehr als 100 Mal belagert. Die Festung selbst ist in die Ober- und Unterstadt unterteilt, mit vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten, vom römischen Brunnen, dem Nebojsa-Turm, dem Militärmuseum bis zum Victor Monument, dem Hauptsymbol der Stadt Belgrad.

AMAZING INTRODUCTION TO BELGRADE My wife and I booked this private walking tour of Belgrade at the last minute due to a dropped ball by another tour operator. This turned out to be the best possible outcome and set an excellent tone at the start of our 5 days in Belgrade. Our Tour Guide was Nina, who is an exceptional guide with a happy personality and a deep knowledge of Belgrade, of Serbia and of the history of the Balkans. She tailored the pacing of the tour to allow us more time in St Sava Church and to explore to city and the fort. It was a memorable experience that led to us booking several more tours with Serbia Inspired Tours. Our visit to Belgrade would not have been so successful if we had not met Nina and her sister Jelena, (who is also a tour guide). My wife and I have traveled widely and this was one of the best experiences I have ever had exploring a city and country for the first time.

Nina was really amazing... and Jelena from the office as well. Belgrade was not included in the regular agency tours we were offered, we decided to drive from Sarayevo and scheduled Zagreb as our last stop. The drive was DEFINITELY worth it. Belgrade is beautiful. The churches are astonishing, the fort a historic showcase, and Skalardija was enchanting.
