Sarnath ist berühmt als der Ort, an dem Gautama Buddha seine erste Predigt hielt. Sarnath war vom 6. Jahrhundert v. Chr. bis zum 12. Jahrhundert n. Chr. eine renommierte Bildungsschule. Besuchen Sie die Ruinen, den Stupa, den buddhistischen Tempel und das Museum. Im Museum befindet sich die Ashok-Säule mit ihren vier Schutzlöwen, die als nationales Emblem des unabhängigen Indiens dient. Der buddhistische Tempel Mulagandhakuti Vihara in Sarnath ist einer der Tempel, die 1931 von der Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society erbaut wurden. Es ist der Ort, an dem Lord Buddha seine erste Regenzeit verbracht hatte. An den Wänden dieses Tempels befinden sich wunderschöne Fresken, die das Leben Buddhas darstellen. Es ist der heiligste Ort für die Menschen der buddhistischen Religion, da Lord Buddha hier unter dem Baum seine Erleuchtung erlangte. Such an amazing tour! The tour guide was informative, funny, and considerate (always choosing shade when it was 43 degrees outside). He was so easy to understand and told everything in a clear and memorable way. For me, it was really special to hear the story of Buddhism in the country it was founded - despite it being less observed in the country today.

Brilliant guided walk around Sarnath. Our guide was able to explain the complexity of Buddism, very clearly and succinctly, he was relaxed and humorous and made the walk seem like 5 minutes. He was very knowledgeable about the subject and happy to discuss any subject relating to Indian culture and beliefs. I would highly recommend the company.
