Entworfen von der herausragenden Luxushotelfirma hinter The Sherry Netherlands, dem Pierre und dem Hotel Lexington Das legendäre opulente Hotel war Gastgeber für US-Präsidenten, Weltführer, berühmte Prominente und ausländische Würdenträger.
Ein großer Komplex, der aus 19 Geschäftsgebäuden mit einer Fläche von 22 Hektar und über 100 Kunstwerken bestand, war das größte und teuerste Entwicklungsprojekt seiner Zeit, das auf dem Höhepunkt der Weltwirtschaftskrise 60.000 Arbeitsplätze bot.
Seit 40 Jahren das höchste Gebäude der Welt. Gebaut in 410 Tagen, unter Budget. Sein Name leitet sich von „Empire State“ ab, dem Spitznamen des Staates New York.
Die New York Public Library wurde am 23. Mai 1895 durch die Zusammenlegung des Tilden Trust und der Astor- und Lenox-Bibliotheken gegründet und sammelte bei ihrer Eröffnung im Jahr 1911 350.000 Bände. Dies ist auf über 55 Millionen Bücher und andere Gegenstände angewachsen, die auf 7 Etagen gestapelt sind .
Ein persönliches Symbol des Automobil-Titanen Walter Chrysler und der Stärke seines Unternehmens. Als „jhotazz in stone and steel“ bezeichnet, wird es oft als klassisches Beispiel für Art-déco-Architektur zitiert.

This was a fantastic tour. Annabel is an excellent guide! I learned a lot about NYC history and architecture from the late 1800s to present. I highly recommend it!

The mid town architectural tour was fantastic. We learnt so much about NY history and how diferent historical events reflected into the city skyline. Annabelle was phenomenal; very well informed and she has a talent of telling stories and making the tour most enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Annabel was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide who gave us a great tour. However she only covered 4 of the listed itinerary sites: The Plaza, The St. Regis, the Waldorf Astoria, and Grand Central Station. We saw much more, but if you’re looking to check certain boxes you should discuss with her.

I also want to personally apologize for any confusion regarding the itinerary listing. This has absolutely nothing to do with Annabel. Third-party booking platforms require us to create a fixed “itinerary” using specific buildings or landmarks, and I have to assign time estimates that add up to the full 3-hour duration of the tour. To satisfy those requirements, I selected a series of landmarks from The Plaza to Grand Central. One of the things that makes our tours special, though, is that we do not follow rigid, scripted itineraries. Our guides are extremely knowledgeable and allow the group’s interests, questions, conversations, and pace to help shape the experience organically throughout the tour. I completely understand your point, and I’m sorry if there were specific buildings listed on the third-party itinerary that you were expecting to cover in more detail. We had the most wonderful time with Annabel on the Midtown Manhattan architecture tour. Our three hours were packed to the brim with in-depth information on the styles, sights and history of our walk. My wife and I are local and have been on many tours, but this is one of our favorites of all time. Very informative walking tour of key buildings and public spaces in Midtown Manhattan. We traveled with our two kids, 11 and 14, and our guide, Annabel, was very knowledgeable and at the same time able to adapt the content to engage both us and our kids. We felt like we got deep insights into the architectural history of the area and some insider tips too on places to see that are accessible to the public. A really fantastic experience! The full walking tour was about 3-3.5 hours long but the guide walked at a slow pace so this activity would be accessible for many types of visitors. She also built breaks and rest stops into the tour as needed. Highly recommended!
