We booked the 2 day tour to Galway (over night stay) and Cliffs of Moher from July 28 - 29, 2026. We had a fabulous time on both days and we are glad to have chosen the 2 day tour rather than the day tour. The hotel accommodation was clean and comfortable. The admission fee to the Cliffs was included in the price of the tour. The crowds were not overwhelming. Initially I was hesitant to book the PaddyWagon tours when I saw how many people it takes but the bus wasn’t full and it was a comfortable ride. The other people on our tours were so friendly - it was a great atmosphere. We especially loved that we got to experience Galway on our own and went to a local pub and met friendly locals. Dinner at Hooked which was incredible and worth the 1 hour wait (we waited at the nearby pub - Cooke’s Thatch Bar - shout out to Peter a friendly local). Danny and Keith were both excellent tour guides. Both tour guides were funny and easy going. I especially love how Danny gave us a detailed history of Ireland specifically on the famine as we drove towards the Cliffs of Moher and the famine walls. He is an amazing story teller. Keith and Danny both did a fantastic job checking in on everyone and making sure guests were accounted for and comfortable. They were clear with giving directions on how long breaks were and what time to be back to remain on schedule. They both had a great sense of humour and appreciate the jokes and story telling throughout the rides. We appreciate them both and would be happy to have either of them as our next tour guide when we take our 2 day trip to Northern Ireland on July 1 - 2, 2026. I have celiac disease and I was happy to see that the hotel breakfast and lunch stops accommodate gluten free guests. I especially loved the cabbage salad at lunch after the Cliffs of Moher /thank you to the chef for sharing the recipe! Overall, we are happy with the tour and will recommend to PaddyWagon Tours to our friends and family going to visit Ireland.
Alex was a great tour guide. Funny, and casual. Talked to us like friends instead of as an audience, which I liked. Good trip down to Cork and back.
Awful experience. Note to fellow travelers. Your bus may be unmarked and arrive at a different location than the one provided in your instructions. There may be other excursions and guests leaving from the same spot. There will be no Paddywagon signs, and your driving may be inside the bus. Have a way to be contacted, as your driver will leave without you if you are not able to be reached.
Took the PaddyWagon to Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty castle, etc. Our guide and driver was Gerry and he was so entertaining with his knowledge, fun stories, sense of humor and all around super nice human!
The meeting point was central and a rep from Paddywagon was there waiting for us and directed us to the bus. Cullen was a great driver on his big clean bus. We had some temperature issues in the bus and he addressed them. The rest of the ride was comfortable. The hotel in Galway was nice but a bit out of the center of town. We had to take a taxi to dinner and back. Breakfast at the hotel was a nice plentiful buffet. Gordon picked us up and toured to the Cliffs with us. His passion for Ireland was evident as he drove us around and explained everything in a clear humorous way. After lunch we had to change busses since we were going back to Dublin. We had an hour unnecessary layover at the restaurant waiting for our next bus. Michael came and took us into his bus from the restaurant for the test of the tour back to Dublin. Mike was excellent too.
The places listed on the Paddywagon website for this tour were largely not visited. Very disappointing, as that was the main reason we booked this trip. The guide was new, didn’t know the full route, and improvised large parts of the tour. When we pointed out that several advertised stops had been skipped, she avoided the question. She called it “go with the flow” — , but in this case it just felt like an excuse not to follow the itinerary. If I travel to Ireland again, I won’t be choosing Paddywagon.
The Ring of Kerry tour with Paddywagon was amazing 👏 the scenery was fabulous. Everything about tour was just perfect. Even the weather was good. It also helps when you have a great Driver and tour guide. Paul was very knowledgeable and had some great stories. Fabby Stuart keicher
I would highly advise against booking with this company. We paid EUR 75 per person for a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher, Feb 12, only to experience a series of frustrating issues from the start. You do not receive any detailed explanation about the tour, what to bring with you, what to expect, times, etc etc. For example, take a look at any "Get Your Guide" tour, they explain everything. Paddywagon only sends you an email, that will most likely land on your Junk Email, no contact information, they have 0 customer service, believe me. Our vacation day was ruined by them. Our accommodation had an unforseen event, forcing us to switch rooms early in the morning, which made us arrive 7h58am instead of 7h50am. The staff were incredibly unprofessional—both the guy at the office door and the lady at the admin desk were sarcastic, rude, and completely unhelpful. We simply wanted to move our tour to the following day, but they were inflexible and dismissive. This company is nothing more than a tourist trap. Instead of heading to the Cliffs of Moher, we were sent on a completely unnecessary detour to Glendalough, a place that was an hour away and costs EUR 30 for a 12 PM return. The trip included an uncomfortable bus ride, a brief stop, and a one-hour walk—total time-wasting. To top it off, the bus was far from luxurious as advertised, and definitely not built for long journeys. The only redeeming part was the driver, who was kind and professional, but this was by far the worst tour experience we've had. Avoid this company at all costs, just google a bunch in Dublin you will surely find many many others. The other option to Cliffs are renting a car, taking trains to Galway, etc. Do your research and take a look on the negative reviews, they really reflect reality of Paddywagon. On the 13th we came back and had to purchase another ticket , full price. The drivers are 10/10. The only horrible things are the buses - unformtable and the staff at the store. Ah, and DO NOT EXPECT customer service at all, it does not exist :)
Dear 441oti, By your own admission, you missed your tour because you were almost 10 minutes late due to a problem with rooms at your hotel. The detailed instructions provided on your ticket advise to be at the collection point 5- 10 minutes in advance to take the pressure off everyone and to mimimise the impact of unforeseen delays. By that measure, you were 15- 20 minutes late. There is ample contact information both on our website, brochures and on tickets. We have responsibility to other guests (to maximise their experience and not keep them waiting) and to the government route licenses we operate under. Guests need to take responsibility for their own timekeeping and planning. If you arrived 10 minutes late for an InterCity train scheduled at 07:50 anywhere in the world you would surely find it had left the platform at the scheduled time. I can assure you that this is how all tour operators work in Europe. Thank you for rating our drivers 10/10. Sincerely,
This trip was confusing and of poor quality. The website lists different stops but this was our itinerary: Day 1. 6 hr drive to Galway with 3 short stops beside a road. We were left in Galway at 2 pm for 20 hours. We were picked up the next day at 1030 am to go to……..Galway for an hour! Day 2. See the FIRST -and last- place of interest at Cliffs of Moher at 2 pm. Then 4 hrs to Dublin with one stop at a gas station. To summarize: no Glengowla,no Burren, no Corcomroe Abbey, no Bunratty Castle, and no actual information about anything in two days that we couldn’t have picked up from 4 minutes on the internet.
I’ve been waiting 10yrs to take this trip and Paddy Wagon Tours and their driver Steven did a fabulous job. From the simplicity of making the booking, to the luxe comfort of the new mini bus we were fortunate to enjoy. Breaks were well spaced out, with ample time available at key sightseeing locations. The B&B accommodation we stayed in overnight was lovely, perfect and 8 minutes walking distance into Galway. Thank you so much for adding to our beautiful family vacation. Memories that we’ll cherish forever. Extremely grateful.
