2 Tage – Bromo Ijen Bali Ultimate Tour // Tag 1 01.00 Uhr – Tag 2 14.00 Uhr

We die the 2d1n Bromo and Mt Ijen Tour. Our tourguide Sandi was very friedlich as well as our diverse Mr. Wawan and Hari. Everthyrhing Was well organized and the experimence was Amazing. 1 Point less because we wäre very hungry and there wäscht possibility to get food , we didn't like the horses on Mt. Bromo and sonstiges we were leer in the blue. Bitte all in all we would definately do it again!

Even if you have to leave twice very early, both activities are a great experience. The highlight for myself was the Ijen. My wife had first thoughts about the described requirements for ascent to Ijen and wanted to stay behind in the car. The local guide was able to convince her that she could do it and in retrospect she was overjoyed to have done it.

The tour to Bromo with Eki team was very nice, we had a lot of wind but a really beautiful sunrise! Ijen was spectacular too with its lake at sunrise. I really recommend this!

Our trip with Smartway was fantastic. From the start they had clear communication and were well organised. They adapted for our accommodation and transport needs at the start and end of the tour by arranging taxis for us (our driver Caniago was great) and organising payment through them. Our guides Eki and Riski were friendly, knowledgeable and we felt safe and looked after. We love learning languages and they were enthusiastic to teach us. The accommodation Smartway organised was clean, comfortable and in a good location. The sights were amazing and the blue fire especially was a once in a lifetime experience.

We found Smartway because looking to road trip through Eastern Java to see the Bromo and Ijen volcanoes. We had a very good experience and will remember this tour forever. We started the tour in Malang and ended the tour in Bali. The entire tour took a total of two days and one night. We had a tour guide for Bromo, a tour guide for Ijen, and four different drivers who got us from our hotel in Malang to our hotel in Bali. The transfers were all smooth and they handled our luggage for us all the way through. Our tour guide Alfin picked us up at 12:30am in Malang for the Mt Bromo tour. He took us in a grab car to the jeep pickup spot, where the Jeep tour began. We had our own Jeep with Alfin and the driver. One thing we didn't expect: how many Jeeps there would be! We all drove to the base of the mountain in the dead of night and congregated in a base camp type of area, where there are hats and gloves for sale, as well as coats for rent. It was surprisingly cold, so we rented coats. I had not been sure if the sunset view of Bromo was going to be worth getting up at 12am for, but it was incredible and better than expected. I enjoyed the sunset view of Bromo better than climbing to see Bromo Caldera itself, although it's also pretty special to look into the heart of an active volcano! The next day was pretty intense, as we arrived at our hotel in Banguwanyi at 8pm and left again at midnight. (Fortunately, we were able to sleep a few hours in the car.) We met our Ijen tour guide to begin the hike at 2am. The Ijen hike consists of an uphill walk and then a scramble down a rock quarry. We got to the Blue Flame around 4am and were able to get back up to the ridge to see sunrise. The Blue Flame was incredible; Sunrise was also surreal, with the sulfur clouds giving the sky an eerily beautiful look. Ijen is an active sulfur mine and we got to see miners actively working during the tour. (I recommend doing your own reading for various takes on the miners' conditions.) Our guide currently works as a miner in Ijen and was able to answer lots of questions about how the miners work in the volcano. Before doing the tour I had been worried about safety, but I felt decently safe with the headlamp and gas mask provided with the tour. I also rented goggles, which I didn't end up using. We had good wind that day, so the fumes were not as concentrated. We had the same driver, Adi, from Bromo until the ferry to Bali. He had great communication, made sure we got everywhere we needed to go, and also gave us time for meals and resting. All guides on the tour were also surprisingly good at taking photos. We have some incredible photos from this tour.

Incredible experience, stunning scenery and great memories. The team was excellent from initial pick up to final drop off, and everything in between. Everything was extremely well organised and nothing was too much trouble. My friends and I had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with our lovely drivers and guides. Special shout out to Adi and Riski.

The tour was awesome, nothing I would’ve changed. Very intense but perfectly organised. Mount bromo was stunning, our hotel for the night was decent and ijen was so cool. All the people were super friendly and did everything they could to give us the best experience possible. Couldn’t be happier.

The different tour operators cut both events shorter than Viator is selling. Meaning we had to leave Ijen and Bromo before planned and didn’t see them in full light but only sunrise. The guides did not speak any English so we couldn’t ask mush questions and they were therefore just people showing the route - which you can do yourself. The drivers that arranged for us were nice. I would therefore recommend to go with another operator than Viator!!

The view is really nice we took a lot of photos. The trip to Mount Bromo and Ijen is a trip about an adventure in observing active volcanoes and these two volcanos are so beautiful! Mount Bromo with the view of the sunrise, the loud sound from inside the crater and the green savannah is an extraordinary experience! Meanwhile, our journey to Ijen was amazed by the blue flame and a beautiful blue lake.These two beautiful places are above the active volcano! What an amazing experience!
