The Felucca went out about 250 meters. Sunset does not start at 4:00pm and the entire trip lasted 1 1/2 hours. All we saw were buildings. That said, the “crew” was extremely nice.
I had spent several days in Luxor with both early mornings and late evenings chasing down tours of pharoes and temples - this felucca event was my last event in luxor for which I needed a breather as I then moved up to Cairo for pyramids It was a good choice - it was billed as guided tour, but I believed that I had experienced al the guideds I needed in Luxor and only wanted to chil on the Nile, so we agreed to dispense with the guide bit The Nile is a perfect way to chill, it was a warm afternoon / early evening and the felucca sailed calmy - an excelelnt way to calm before the madness that was to come in Cairo later on One additional surprise and warming detail on the Felucca was a young boy, well mannered and polite - makes tea very well and then plays and sings his heritage music exceptionally well - This young lad could fill a concernt hall on his own, he was that good One thing I didnt appreciate was the fact that I was picked up in a taxi and taken for a 15 minute back street drive when my hotel was about 300m from the boat and I could see it - it would have been better had they have done some wheelies and an odd doughnut or two to mak eit excting = otherwise cut to the chase the felucca is a wonderful way of relaxing on the Nile and recommended to all
Mena was the best. And the crew was fabulous. This was one of our favorite activities. It was so relaxing.
