Der Himmelswind ist der Wind, der zwischen den Ohren eines Pferdes weht. - Beduinensprichwort In traditionellen Beduinengemeinschaften lernten Kinder das Reiten, bevor sie laufen konnten, und Pferde galten als wesentlicher Bestandteil des Lebens. Während die Welt sich Computern und Autos zuwendet, arbeitet eine engagierte Familie beduinischer Reiter hart daran, ihre Traditionen am Leben zu erhalten. Mountain Horse Stables ist die Heimat preisgekrönter Marathon-(Ausdauer-)Pferde sowie vieler geretteter Happy-Trail-Pferde. Zusätzlich zur Ausbildung und Zucht führt der Stall auch die Pferderehabilitation vor Ort durch. Unsere rehabilitierten Pferde werden zu ihren (jetzt gebildeten) Besitzern zurückgegeben oder behalten ein Leben in verwöhntem Luxus als eines unserer Wanderpferde. Wir sind von der Petra Development and Tourism Authority lizenziert und werden von lokalen Beduinen betrieben.

We lived an unforgettable moment, a magnificent horseback ride in the Petra desert! Joel and Wendy are passionate and in love with Jordan and their horses, on top of that they are so kind! We also had the chance to meet Abid, who has been working with Joel and Wendy since the beginning, a man just as in love with horses. Went there for a trail ride with my two daughters who are visiting from the US for the holidays. We went on a three hour trail ride and we had a wonderful experience. The girls, who are experienced riders, had a blast. It is better to discuss your skill level with the guide before planning your trip. My youngest daughter’s horse was abnoxious, so the guide switched horses with her and she rode a beautiful Arabian! She was extremely happy. The guide Dirrar was superb and the entire experience was mesmerizing! We agreed to come back in the Spring for the Wadi Musa to Wadi Rum six day trail.
Hands down the best experience in Petra. It couldn’t have been better. The horses were great and the hospitality made us leave feeling so in awe of how lovely Jordanian people are. I would spend everyday at Mountain Horse Stables if I could and it’s clear how loved and cared for the horses are. 100% recommend!!
