Geschichte der Gegend. Wir beginnen im Jahre 1690, als König William III. In Irland ankam, um König James II. In der berühmten Battle Of The Boyne zu besiegen. Es wird dann eine Erklärung zu den jüngsten Problemen geben, die 1969 begonnen und mit der Unterzeichnung des Friedensabkommens 1998 beendet wurden. Sie werden durch das Herz eines loyalistischen Spaziergangs durch die Gegend geführt, wo Ihr Guide die Wandtapeten des Loyalisten erklärt und was sie darstellen. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, Ihre eigenen Fotografien der loyalistischen Wandbilder zu machen.
Die Friedensmauern sollten die katholische (Republikaner) und die protestantische (loyalistische) Bevölkerung voneinander trennen. Die ersten "Friedenslinien" wurden nach dem Ausbruch des Krieges errichtet, auch bekannt als die "Schwierigkeiten" (1969). Sie wurden als temporäre Bauten gebaut, die nur sechs Monate dauern sollten. Aufgrund ihres effektiven Charakters wurden sie höher, länger und dauerhaft gebaut. Heute sind die Wände mit Kunst und Hoffnungsbotschaften von Touristen geschmückt.
Besuchen Sie die berühmte Falls Road, der Geburtsort der provisorischen IRA. Jeder Abschnitt dieser Straße und ihr politisches Wandbild werden detailliert erklärt und die Gründe dafür angegeben. Die nächste Station ist das Pressebüro Sinn Fein, wo sich das berühmteste Wandgemälde der Welt von Bobby Sands befindet. Sie erfahren von der Geschichte des irischen Hungerstreiks 1981 im Gefängnis H Blocks.

Very interesting tour. It put a good perspective on the Troubles. Our guide Ricky did a great job of explaining the perspectives of both sides impartially. Highly recommend the tour and Ricky as a guide

Very informative two hours. Enjoyable experience
Sean was excellent. He brought us to the area/street where my husband’s grandfather was born and showed us the church where the family worshipped as well. His remarks were comprehensive and sobering. Definitely would recommend this tour.

This was such an eye-opening and educational experience. We are both consumers of current affairs and consider ourselves well-read, but we had no idea about the existence of so many miles of “peace” walls in the Belfast neighborhoods. Kevin was well informed and compelling. We have continued to talk about our tour with him throughout our time in N Ireland, and I imagine we will once we return home.

Stephen took us on a 2 hour trip back into the 60's through the 90's in Central Belfast. Unbelievable story brought to life through the wall, the gates, the murals and his stories and photographs. Do not miss this opportunity to learn about The Troubles. Thanks to Stephen we have a much better understanding of the background and the details of this horrible struggle for Northern Ireland.
