Die Rwenzoris oder „Mondberge“ sind für Ihre Schönheit berühmt. Fast ständig versinken Sie im Nebel, scheinen dadurch verführerisch und gespenstisch und sind Mittelpunkt vieler rätselhafter Geschichten. In erster Linie ist Rwenzori für seine anspruchsvollen Wanderungen und Klettermöglichkeiten bekannt, einzigartig in den ostafrikanischen Bergen. Rwenzori ist nicht vulkanischen Ursprungs, erhebt sich jedoch direkt vom Rift Valley Meeresgrund. Hier leben auch vielfältige Tiere Säugetiere und über 177 Vogelarten, einige davon sind endemisch für die Region des Albertine-Rifts. Es ist die höchste Gebirgskette in Afrika. Die höchsten Gipfel, Margherita (5.109m) und Alexandra (5083m) auf dem Mount Stanley, werden in Afrika nur vom Kilimanjaro und Mount Kenya überragt.

We feel so lucky to have had Patrick as our guide during our time in Uganda.
