Die wunderschöne Landschaft des Stone Forest Scenic Area wurde 2007 in das UNESCO-Kulturerbe aufgenommen. Diese Sehenswürdigkeit genießt großen Ruf, sowohl innerhalb Chinas als auch im Ausland. Der Yunnan Stone Forest Park, etwa 90 km östlich von Kunming, ist ein sehr beliebter Touristenhotspot. Aufgrund der gigantischen Größe des Parks ist es dennoch möglich, vor allem in den sonnigen Wintermonaten weniger besuchte und abgelegene Gebiete zu finden. Finden Sie Ihren eigenen Weg durch das Labyrinth riesiger Steinsäulen!Anschließend besuchen Sie die malerische Region Jiuxiang, die sich in der Jiuxiang Yi und der Autonomen Gemeinde Hui im Kreis Yiliang befindet, eine 45-minütige Fahrt vom Steinwald entfernt. Es ist berühmt für seine Karsthöhlen (insgesamt etwa 100, von denen über 60 erforscht sind), Berge, Flüsse, tiefe Täler sowie Minderheitenbräuche und Kulturen. Diese Tour umfasst einige Treppen. Für Sicherheit und Komfort ist es möglicherweise nicht für kleine Kinder oder Reisende im fortgeschrittenen Alter geeignet.

1,5 Stunden mit dem Auto zu einem der größten Wunder von Yunnan, dem Steinwald im Landkreis Shilin. Wetter und Zeit haben ein riesiges Karstlabyrinth geformt, das sich anfühlt, als würde man durch einen Wald gehen, mit uralten Steinbäumen, die auf einen herabschauen. Jede Felsformation, die Sie passieren, hat ihre eigene berührende Geschichte oder spannende Legende, die von den Ureinwohnern weitergegeben wird, die seit Ewigkeiten in dieser Gegend leben. Die Ureinwohner gehören der Sani-Minderheit an, einem Zweig der ethnischen Minderheit der Yi, die man noch heute im Park finden kann, indem man gemeinsam Volkslieder singt oder Stickereien macht.
Später werden wir ein weiteres Kunstwerk der Natur sehen, die Jiuxiang-Höhlen, Teil des größten Höhlengruppensystems in China, mit Flüssen, Schluchten, Wasserfällen, Wäldern, Natursteinbrücken und allem, was Sie sich in einem Märchenland vorstellen würden. Betreten Sie die Höhlen durch eine enge grüne Schlucht und sehen Sie den Eingang der Höhlen, die im Inneren der Wälder versteckt sind, während Sie mit der Seilbahn darüber fliegen. Der Fahrer bringt Sie danach zurück in die Kunming Innenstadt (ca. 1,5 Stunden) und setzt Sie wieder an Ihrem Hotel ab.

We went on a one day tour from Kunming to see the stone forest and the caves, incredible sights to see. I can highly recommend it. I contacted Katherine a couple of weeks before to ask if she could organise a driver for us for the day. We started on email first and switched to we chat. She was super helpful and so professional. Always very quick to respond and very accomodating. Thumbs up!! I can highly recommend her if you would like to book anything in Yunnan. Everything was detailed beforehand. Pick up from hotel etc. You can plan individually. We had a driver called Hao. He was very very friendly and helpful telling us exactly how to get the tickets. You can decide how long you want to stay at each place. Probably better to allow quite a bit of time for the stone forest as the area is huge.

Wonders of Yunnan was truly amazing! Throughout the entire journey, my guide was very professional and talkative, and even shared the story of Ashima during the visit to the Stone Forest. The car was also very comfortable, making it a highly enjoyable travel experience.

The natural wonders were incredible but our guide was really supportive of our enjoyment, taking us through quite areas where we could appreciate the stones without the noise and hub bub of the mass of photographers. Authentic place for lunch serving plentiful amounts of tasty local food. Was a great day out
