Bekannt als "das beste Schloss auf der Nankaido (Straße)", ist es ein Symbol der Stadt Kochi. Gegenwärtig gibt es in Japan nur 12 Burgen aus der Zeit vor dem Edo, aber die Burg von Kochi ist eine der wertvollsten Burgen. Der heutige Hauptturm wurde im August 1747 wieder aufgebaut. Das größte Merkmal der Burg Kochi ist, dass die gesamte Gebäudegruppe, bestehend aus Tenshu, Goten und Corridor Bridge, zusammen mit der Steinmauer usw. vollständig vorhanden ist. Der Pavillon im obersten Stockwerk des Schlossturms überblickt die Stadt Kochi.
Große Halle mit Essensständen von rund 40 verschiedenen Restaurants sowie Souvenirläden und anderen Geschäften. Vielleicht werden Sie einige der berühmten "Katsuo Tataki" genießen, die Bonito-Fisch gebraten ist. Es wird empfohlen, dass Sie Salz und in Scheiben geschnittenen Knoblauch darauf legen, bevor Sie die Probe nehmen. Genießen Sie die lokalen Speisen, die für Kochi einzigartig sind.
Der Botanische Garten von Makino auf dem Gipfel von Godaiyama, Kochi, wurde 1958 eröffnet, um die Errungenschaften von Dr. Tomitaro Makino, dem "Vater der japanischen Pflanzentaxonomie" aus der Präfektur Kochi, zu würdigen. Ungefähr 3.000 Hektar, einschließlich Wildpflanzen, die mit dem Arzt verwandt sind, färben die vier Jahreszeiten in den ungefähr 6 Hektar des Gartens und machen ihn zu einem der führenden integrierten Botanischen Gärten Japans, in dem Sie die Freude verspüren können, Pflanzen in der Natur zu begegnen.

Der Hafen von Kochi ist nicht in der Nähe der zentralen Stadt Kochi, also, wenn Sie der Kreuzfahrtgast sind, treffen wir uns am Harimayabashi Tourist Bus Terminal, es ist eine Shuttle-Bus-Haltestelle vom Hafen von Kochi. Sie können bequem mit dem Shuttlebus erreichen.

We stopped in Kochi on a cruise and wanted to use a private guide instead of a large shore excursion through the cruise line. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Mitsue. She was knowledgeable and really took the time to understand our group’s interests and needs. And she was wonderful when one of our older family members was feeling unwell due to unseasonable heat in finding alternatives for us. We would enjoy seeing more of Kochi with Mitsue again!

We had a wonderful day in Kochi with our delightful expert guide Mitsue. She was kind, knowledgeable, and related well to everyone in our party across age groups. Most importantly she was flexible. It was unseasonably warm weather and when one of our older family members became fatigued, Mitsue was prompt in offering solutions and getting them to an air conditioned space where they could recharge - while ensuring the other members of our party saw the key landmarks. We will absolutely love to tour Kochi again with Mitsue!

Our guide Peach very kindly met us at the port so that we did not have to take a paid shuttle into town. She was very enthusiastic about her city and its beautiful sites, and took many posed pictures of us so that she could send us a photo album. We especially enjoyed the Makino Botanical Garden dedicated to the man who devoted his entire life to advancing botany in Japan and the world. Visiting Kochi castle was strenuous for us due to the many stairs. Younger/more fit travelers would have no trouble.

Kumiko was a great tour guide. I would recommend it. She was flexible with the tour because of my surgery. She gave great alternative options. Kochi castle was beautiful and we loved learning about the culture.

I had a most excellent tour of Kochi with Hdemi! She is so kind an knowledgeable about the history and customs of the area! She tailored the tour to my interests and I thoroughly enjoyed her company! I highly recommend this tour!! It was well organized and timed to avoid the crowds which I very much appreciated. We visited Kochi Castle which was very beautiful! Demi explained the history of the castle and that it is an important pilgrimage for people today. We explored the Hirome Market and Hdemi helped me pick some local delicious vegetarian food for my lunch. We traveled to the Makino Botanic Garden which is located on top of a mountain with spectacular views! We saw many rare and exotic blooms. We then visited the Chikurinji Temple as well. It was a lovely day! Demi gave us a parting gift and I will treasure the memory of this day❤️
