Bereiten Sie sich darauf vor, das alte Japan zu Fuß bei dieser aufregenden Wanderung durch traditionelle Poststädte, alte Wälder und dramatische Bergpässe zu erleben. Ihr Reiseführer beginnt in der Poststadt Tsumago-juku und erklärt Ihnen ein wenig darüber, welche Art von Menschen im alten Japan auf den Straßen unterwegs waren, wohin sie gingen und wie sie lebten. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, einige Gebäude zu betreten, darunter ein altes Gasthaus und einen Pferdestall, die perfekt veranschaulichen, was Ihr Reiseführer erwähnt hat. Sie verlassen die Poststadt Tsumago-juku und beginnen eine 8 km lange Wanderung zur nächsten Poststadt, vorbei an tosenden Wasserfällen und ruhigen Dörfern. Unsere Tour beginnt erst richtig, wenn Sie und Ihr Guide im Tsumago-juku Post Town aus dem Bus steigen. Einst eine wichtige Station an einer Straße zwischen Tokio (damals Edo genannt) und Kyoto, hat sich das Erscheinungsbild der Stadt seit ihrer Blütezeit nicht verändert. Hier finden Sie Straßen, die von traditionellen Holzgebäuden gesäumt sind, die von ihren Bewohnern sorgfältig erhalten wurden. Einige Gebäude sind zum Betreten geöffnet und ermöglichen Ihnen einen Einblick in die Art und Weise, wie die Menschen im alten Japan früher reisten.
Von Tsumago aus beginnt die Nakasendo-Trail-Wanderung. Mit einer Gesamtlänge von rund 8 km ist dieser Weg ein Muss für alle, die ein Outdoor-Erlebnis mit einem kulturellen Erlebnis verbinden möchten. Unterwegs werden Sie mit atemberaubenden Wasserfällen, malerischen Dörfern und dramatischen Bergblicken verwöhnt. Der Weg deckt eine große Bandbreite an Höhenunterschieden ab. Bereiten Sie sich also darauf vor, Ihre Beine zu benutzen und Ihr Blut in Wallung zu bringen. Ihr Reiseleiter sorgt dafür, dass Sie sich nicht verlaufen, und bereichert Ihr Erlebnis mit aktuellen Anekdoten und sachkundigen Wissenswertem über die Sehenswürdigkeiten, die Sie unterwegs sehen werden.
Nach Abschluss der 8 km langen Nakasendo-Wanderung erreichen Sie Magome-juku, eine weitere erstaunliche Stadt auf dem Nakasendo-Wanderweg. Diese Stadt ist vertikaler als Tsumago-juku und liegt auf einem steilen Hügel, der einen Blick über die Dächer der Gebäude unter Ihnen und auf die Ebene am Fuße des Dorfes bietet. Hier gibt es einige Souvenirläden und Orte für einen schnellen Snack. Ihr Reiseführer gibt Ihnen die Möglichkeit, diese Geschäfte in Ihrem eigenen Tempo zu erkunden.

Nagano: Die Abholung am Bahnhof Nagano befindet sich im Bahnhof Nagano vor der Informationstafel direkt gegenüber den Bullet-Zugausgängen um 08:15 Uhr. Der Abholpunkt befindet sich vor dem Westausgang des Bahnhofs Matsumoto um 9:45 Uhr am unteren Ende der Rolltreppe. Suchen Sie nach einem Fortgeschrittener mit einem Snow Monkey Resorts Tag, der Ihnen zum Bus hilft.

Alissa and Taka were amazing! We learned so much from them. We're not really tour people, and while we love hiking anyway, I think this experience is much better getting all the history and interesting information about the trail. Also the group size is pretty small which is really nice. Also Alissa and Taka found us as the meet up point right away, so that part was super easy.

Our experience was excellent. Alissa is extremely knowledgeable and clearly pointed out landmarks in such a way that we could enjoy them. She’s a delightful person who appealed to every one of our party, schoolteacher, professor and journalist. She answered all of our sometimes pesky questions. She respectfully kept us safe, moving along, and on time. Alissa is well connected to the social structure of the community. She knew the residents, shopkeepers and caretakers. Taka was an excellent presence as well, answering general questions about the prefecture and Japanese history and was a delight to be with. We’ve taken two other tours through TripAdvisor, in Australia and Portugal. This was even more fun than the others and we will definitely look for opportunities to book again.

This is truly a beautiful hike and Dillon really knew some interesting facts about the Nakasendo Trail. I absolutely loved this trip. You should be able to walk 5 miles and there are uphills and downhills to contend with. There’s a bathroom halfway and bathrooms at the beginning and end. Highly recommend hike for people in good health.
This is our second time to participate in the Chinese mountain road, from wife cage to horse cage along the beautiful landscape. Our guide this time was Jake, who very carefully and professionally explained the sights along the way. We love Jake's affinity.
It was a wonderful tour! Alissa was knowledgeable and provided a lot of historical and cultural context that would have eluded us otherwise. She was also attentive throughout the tour and was mindful of our pace, especially during the more challenging sections of the trail. Our driver Nishi-san was also friendly and warm.
Dillon was great. Highly recommend this trip for those that enjoy hiking and history. While you can do this own your own, public transit isn’t easy in this area and the guided tour made it much easier, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Lovely walk from Tsumago to Magome with our congenial group of 12 + our guide Kieron. I enjoyed stopping for snacks and sights at the start and end. Long drive to get there, but worth it to experience part of the Nakasendo trail.
